Just got an email about the new rules being implemented as of 2nd January:

The shareholders Club of Euro Disney S.C.A. is intended to provide a quality service and relevant information on the Company in order to better meet the needs of their members.
We are pleased to announce the implementation of the new « General Conditions of Euro Disney S.C.A. Shareholders Club » effective on Thursday, January 2nd, 2014. We invite you to consult the attached document for additional information.

Any shareholder who would like to become a member or to renew its membership to the Shareholders Club, has to hold a minimum of 100 Euro Disney S.C.A. shares (ISIN code: FR0010540740) in a bearer or a registered form. Are exempt from this requirement, the shareholders who meet one of the following situations:

• Being members of the Shareholders Club since a date earlier than October 1st, 2005 and holding a minimum of five (5) Euro Disney S.C.A. shares on the date of the latest renewal.

• Justifying at the time of their membership request to the Shareholders Club, unbroken detention of a minimum of five (5) Euro Disney S.C.A. shares since a date earlier than October 1st, 2005.

Please note:

Regardless of the number of shares you hold, you will continue to benefit from the Shareholders Club discount and offers, upon presentation of a valid membership card.

You can then request a renewal of your membership, as outlined in the General Conditions of the Shareholders Club on January 2nd, 2014.

I see they have changed the rules slightly, a little annoyed as I bought extra shares to get the 100 as the original plan I would have met the excemption as the cut off was going to be year 2000, under the 2005 excemption I would have. Oh well they are bought now:rolleyes:

I still need to buy another 80 shares. Anyone know when the next Halifax cheap share deal is?

Interesting. I wonder what it will take to convince/demonstrate that I've had 5+ shares since early 2005.

They had one yesterday, they seem to be once a month, although December they may skip.

Probably a statement, providing you have been a member without it running out then they should be able to track back as on your shareholders card it states when you became a member like AMEX cards

Your share trading statement should show the date you originally purchased your shares. If it does not, I'm sure your broker will be able to confirm your purchase date.

In an ideal world, but sadly my holding (like many others I suspect) has been transferred numerous times from the original company ComDirect -> Selftrade -> Halifax.

The Halifax would only have information showing the transfer into them which occurred in 2009. I do however have a contract note dated January 2005 from ComDirect showing my purchases - this was back when I had over 1000 shares - before they were "converted".

Thanks

Iain

As long as you can prove continual ownership you should be OK. We went a head and purchased an additional 81 extra shares each after they announced the pre 2000 ownership rule.

Well between two different holdings we have 41 shares, so I was saving to purchase a further 60 to give me 101. Thankfully for me, I can now put that money into visiting DLP rather than investing.

I probably will still get some more shares so that hopefully I'm covered/closer to the target should the rules change again in the future. I just don't now need to do it in time for my renewal next October.

Drat, wish they'd used this date in the first place!

Have you had continuous membership? On the shareholders card it's printed with the month and year of joining.

I don't get it :-/ I have 20 shares, card runs out May 2014 so to get another card I still to purchase another 81??
Sorry for being dumb!!

If you joined the Shareholders club after October 1st, 2005 then you will now need 100 shares to renew. So you will need to purchase an additonal 80 shares.

It used to be 20 shares to be a member, less than that you could pay ¬30 to renew. I suspect that is where the confusion was with the previous poster lays as the rules changed in Oct 2012 :)

Ah Ha... didn't realise that, and also I'd thought there was a small period when my card had expired before I renewed it.

However, card shows member since 02/05, so that should be me covered.

Seems only I'm celebrating this change.

In October 2012, there were 5,700 members of the Shareholders Club. Now there are around 4,880 members.

Around 900 suscribed with old modalities. They think that with the new rules, 670 more shareholders can renew with a holding of 5 shares, so you will not be the only one celebrating.

I wonder if they will increase the perks available to shareholders eventually. Increase the opening hours for Salon Mickey for example. I read on here that there will probably be a shareholders preview of Ratatouille which would be great.

It was mentioned at one of the recent Shareholders round table meetings that Management are considering the possibility of re-locating Salon Mickey to larger facilities within the park and extending it's opening hours.

Pros and cons here if it is relocated to inside the park: it would be nice to be able to access SM later in the morning from the park side without having to go outside (often only being able to use the west side park exit too) just to enter again from outside. On the other hand when the queues at the turnstile are manic I love being able to squeeze past everyone and knock on that door escaping the crowd. Ideally I'd like SM accessible from both inside and outside the park.

Most of all I would like SM open in the afternoon too as a welcome oasis of calm later in the day - plus I'm not really ready for sweet pastries so soon after breakfast! :)

Sorry Jonjo, I just mean't that most people commenting on the thread (and I think on the board) had already invested in additional shares to increase their holdings to 100 - and thus perhaps had a sense of disappointment with the announcement..

I'd not started to increase my holding yet, so this news was very positive for me.

Iain.

Am I reading the new rules correct- because I have held 15 shares since may 2005 ~I can renew without buying more? am a bit confused!

Yes, providing you've held minimum of 5 shares before October 2005 and

a) You've had continuous membership of the shareholders club

b) You can demonstrate that you've continuously held the shares (ie you didn't sell them and later repurchase).
