New shareholder card

I got my new card today, only renewed last week! I did not realise the new card had my pic on it, I would have uploaded a better piccy one than the one i took after 2 hours in the Sun - I look like a tomato in it, and have it for the next 2 years! Great

I have to say I do like the new cards better then the old ones. Shame you didn't realise the photo was going on the card

oh, maybe mine is on the way too... got a confirmation email on the 16th

I got a feeling the new cards are produced "in office" compared to the old ones where they would send them to a 3rd party in batches, the design of the printing similar to the annual pass, just on a thicker card.

At least with the new cards, you do not have to wait for a Manager to authorise your Shareholders discount

Whilst this is a bonus, it never really bothered me as they were doing their job and I found I never really waited more then a couple of minutes and the staff and managers were always apologetic

Very true, and by having your photo on the card it will cut down on the abused and fraudulent use of Shareholders cards.

I was shocked to hear at the Shareholders Roundtable Meeting I attend in London last year that EDL was loosing millions of Euros a year due to the fraudulent use of Shareholder cards. Puting a photo on them, now stops this.

Certainly a good idea. I did notice when I first got my card back in 2001 they never checked, it was only the later years they involved managers and nearly all asked for ID too.
