Hi there!
We just got back from our best vacation EVAH!
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1115024

I wanted to share a "secret" my DD8 found.... "The Secret Button". I'm not quite clever enough to come up with a story behind it but I'm sure someone can create one.

I thought it would be great to start a thread for the "secret button" and see how many people can find it, take photos of it or come up with a story behind it.

The Clue: Pop Century Resort, 3rd floor (9000's building - 80's/90's section)

That's too funny! :lmao:

It does need its own story, like the ring in the ground over at HM.

Like once upon a time.. a very hungry father feasted on a very filling all-you-can-eat meal at Crystal Palace. He ate so much that his pants became much too tight and his button popped off with such force that flew all the way over to where Pop Century was being constructed and landed in the wet cement where it forever stayed! :teeth:

Good story curiouser.

I had envisioned some worker laughing so hard at something, being at Disney of course, that his button popped off! But how did it get stuck in the floor? :) :confused3

Anyone else with a story?

OMG THIS IS HYSTERICAL! I love it! and kudos to your dd. you should email disney and have them call it "daughter's name" button! I wonder if anyone else has found it before?

Too funny! I wanna know what the real story is behind that!

I can't wait to have my kids find it when we go this year! Thanks so much for the tip.

looks cool :) my mum suggested that it was left there by tinkerbell sounds good enough for me!!

Hey, maybe Tinkerbell DID leave it there :tink: Good thought.

Would you believe my daughter's name is Aurora? Yep, it's true...making it "Aurora's Secret Button" :flower: Now doesn't that put a new twist on things?! :)

Ok if you think about it...this is kinda weird...get it...you found it in POP...like pop a button...too funny! I wonder if anyone else has seen this?? I will definately be looking for it when we are there in 101/2 days! :Pinkbounc

My daughter wanted to see this thread. She couldn't believe her "secret button" was on a website.

She said it was her coolest find ever!!!!!!!

I believe that's Corduroy Bear's lost button!!! He must have visited WDW and lost it there. Poor thing, wandering all over the world, with a button missing.

That is so good, Pop a Button, cool :cool1: :rotfl2:

Yes, back in the old days, before velcro was invented, our clothes had these round things sewn (the ancient art of fabric enhancing using a thin sharply pointed metal instrument that would pull thread through fabric) called buttons to keep them closed. A representation of this "button" has been hidden in the POP Resort in Disney World in one of the 'end of the 20th century' sections.

I think they should give out fast passes to Everest for finding this button.

There is this company, I think the name includes the words "star registry" where for a fee you can have a star named after you or someone you designate. There may be several such companies, and they don't cross check to be sure the same star is not named after different people. Disney could sell naming rights to this button whether or not someone else tried to first.

Until someone decides to find out whether the button was dropped in the (probably epoxy based) floor paint by accident by trying to pry it loose.

The next DISer to find it needs to take 2 small buttons (or maybe snaps...) and super glue and make a hidden Mickey!

know I am so psyched to make the "secret Button Pilgrimage " on our trip in Oct.

There will only be 11 of us going to see this button-- :lmao: should make a fun picture-- maybe we should have tshirts made.

:thumbsup2 :rotfl2: OMG that is too good. Making a "hidden" Mickey out of the "secret button"

This is GREAT too. Who ever woulda thunk it, a button becoming pop culture?! :lmao:
