New Seating Policy?

We were in MK last week and were denied seating in Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe and Pinocchio Village Haus because we didn't have a tray of food. Both places were packed with people. There was no way I was going to try and ballance a tray full of food hoping to find a table which was impossible to find. They were not letting anyone in the seating areas without food. Tempers were flying. We never had a problem in the past finding a table, then getting our food. Is this something new they started? If it is, it really stinks!

It's not all that new. They were doing it last Feb. It's only done at busy Times and it seemed to help with getting a table.

Well, in our experience, they failed at making it more pleasurable. They could not guarantee us seating either. They expect you to walk around with a tray full of food as it gets cold and hope you find a seat. No one we saw was helping anyone to find a seat. They would not budge on the policy. We had one person who was diabetic, and two people in their 80's in our party. The CM's were basically non-responsive. Even the managers on the floor would not help. We were not alone. I saw people screaming at the CM's about various medical conditions. We ended up leaving Disney property to eat elsewhere. I will personally never eat at either resatraunt again. They need to seriously review this policy.

This debate has turned heated every time this issue has been posted on the DIS. Feelings are strong on both sides of the issue and the threads spiral into personal attacks on both sides.

Our policy is to close threads that deal with feelings on the policy and leave threads that deal with procedure and information on how it is working.

This thread (now) deals with only factual information on how the process is working. If it turns into a debate about the policy and implementation, it will be closed.
