Soo... are Disney trip is in a couple of weeks, I am still pretty bummed that we changed our reservations but I think it will be better for us just this once. And my grand father actually added a entire week for us to stay since he felt bad. I took my grandfather to the doctors, the other day and they actually told him that his kidney functions went from a 15 % to a 33% level. So that means he is getting better i guess. And I have planned a day away from the parks and from the movies, we have ADR for breakfast at WL and then we are going to come over to the Fort to check it out. Now to my question, DH and I were actually watching the travel channel last week when they had the RV show and we came to the conclusion we would really like to buy the problem is... 1. My husbands credit is not really great due to his divorce and mine is just now getting better after my family put me on a couple of cards as approved user and let them get captured.2. we really don't have the money to pay in full. So does anyone know what are options are... Have you been in the same situation? Can we even try and get financed? Thanks again for all your help!

Have you thought about buying used from a private party? That's what we did. We bought our MH 11 years ago and it didn't look the way it does now. It was tan with brown stripes, not the most attractive, but we didn't have to pay alot for it either. The motor ran great and we have no complaints. If your husband is handy, you can buy a unit that needs cosmetic work for a great price. As long as the bones are good, you can take your time to customize it to fit your needs. Ours is a 1983 and we replace the carpet, furniture, toilet, etc. By doing the work ourselves, we really saved alot of money. The older units are still great. We don't have slide outs, but we have stayed with 5 adults in our MH. It can be a little tight at bed time, but that's about it. I wouldn't trade my MH for a newer one. It's also paid for. We will be arriving at The Fort on August 15 and this is the 12th visit we have made in it. It gets about 10 miles per gallon, which isn't bad for a 31ft. I know you can get a 31, 34, or 36 ft older unit pretty cheap. I've seen them in my area for $6000 or less. These aren't pieces of junk either. You can also put historic tags on the older units and that really cuts down on MVA fees.

I have to agree with the above poster, buy a "fixer-upper" and save a ton of cash. Pay for the upgrades as you go. An added bonus will be that should you ever need to sell, you will likely get most of your money back, as opposed to buying a new $40,000 MH and losing $10,000 in value as soon as you drive off the lot.

Your credit score is important in this day and age, keep working on improving it (which it sounds like you are) before buying a large luxury item such as a MH or TT.

Keep us updated on what you find.

We bought a used pop up for $600.00 a couple of years ago from a friend of a friend, and since I was the only one working at the time and the gentleman had just had knee surgery on both knees he even asked if we would like to do it in payments, to make it easier on us.It worked out great cause he was paid about 100 bucks every 2 weeks and it didn't hurt us financially and it was extra money for him for a stretch of time that he could count on.Our pop up is an 84 8 foot box but sleeps our family of 5 just fine.It may not be the prettiest one in the campground but its paid for and this summer we have been hitting the rummage sales and stocking her up with her own dishes, pots and pans an oven and so on.We go to the RV show every year and look but then I look at ours free and clear and know it's better to be paid for than try to add another expense to our already tight budget. So I say look for used and see what you can find, you just mite get your own diamond in the rough!!:thumbsup2
