I apologize if any of these rumors have been previously posted.

The rumors are new to most, and new in general.

Please note that they are JUST RUMORS. NOTHING IS OFFICIAL unless posted as such.

According to Magical Mountain, there is talk that Illuminations may be replaced for Epcot's 25th Anniversary. Recently, one night, local hotel guests were informed of a late night fireworks testing that would take place.

Lightning McQueen, one of the stars of the new movie Cars, will be added to the Stars and Motorcars parade next month.

The Time Keeper attraction is being internally demolished (confirmed) and boxes were seen around the attraction saying something about "Monsters Inc Demo", possibly meaning that a Monsters Inc attraction could be going into the location.

Here are blueprints from the rumored new Monsters Inc show, which is said to be a Stage Show:

Well, a Monsters stage show would be nice, but really, I think it's time for a Monsters thrill or dark ride instead. Stage shows are getting to be what Disney does to fill up space. They need to be a little more daring.

Im in complete agreement, but, if it's going in the TK theathre, I doubt it will be any sort of ride.

I completely agree with you though and wish Disney would focus (especially in the MK) on more dark rides. I really wished more would have been done with the space from 20K Leagues. They may in the future but, right now it's just empty space really.

Well, the 20,000 Leagues spot has already been snatched for the Thousand Acre Woods across from the Pooh ride. It's now a park for the children. There is a Monsters Inc. ride at California Adventure--it's new and was so crowded when I was there in March, I never got to ride it. (No fastpasses)

It would be nice if they brought that Monsters Inc. ride from California over here. I've read about the ride and its sounds cute.

I would love to see a dark ride for Monsters Inc. I believe that the area left behind by 20000 leagues under the sea is big enough to fit a ride the size of the Haunted Mansion plus a typical WDW dark ride. I also have heard that the playground is only temporary. But of course you have to ask yourself, why would they build something they know they are going to tear down later. Why not just build the rides there now instead of later. All I know is that the playground isn't talking up very much of the space left behind from 20000 leagues.

I agree. I personally love Illuminations, but, with the bigger scale of Wishes (from previously FITS), I would like to see a change as I would think they likely would do something bigger.

Also, I wonder if they will do a different "Illuminations", or change the entire show all together. However, for all of us Illuminations junkies, Im sure whatever they ever replace it with will have great music, and heart felt emotions in it.

When did the ride at California Adventure open and where is it located? I don't recall seeing it there.

Not really. The Pooh play area takes up a very very small part of the former 20K site. In fact there is still enough room there to build an attraction the size of Space Mountain and still have land left over.

Yeah, from what I've seen from overhead shots, it seems that even with the playground , there is a very large portion of land to use for an attraction if desired.

I have a feeling that the process of waiting to build may be two-fold. There may not have been any imaginneering plans on the table and approved and so the development stages are still ocurring, especially given that they have to be considerate of the dimensions of the available land.

Also in some areas, depending in the type of soil and drainage conditions, compacted soil has to sit a certain amount of time to sort of "compact cure", to avoid future problems.

They could install a whole new land the size of Liberty Square or Toontown Fair back there if they wanted to.

See this link for visual proof.

It opened earlier this year, and is in the Backlot Area where Superstar Limo used to be. Not far from Muppetvision 3D. I am really looking forward to riding it in June! :teeth:

I would too. Of course I would like to see them keep the earth globe and the infeno barge.

Yes! that link is very revealing. So, maybe this is the reason for no new information or building at this time. Because, while we've all been talking in the past about a new attraction, this area could "technically" be something on a much larger scale, involving multiple attractions and heavy theming.

Of course, this could mean NOTHING, and they may not do anything but, I think we all can agree, it's highly unlikely that this land will just sit unused forever.

The rumor I have heard is for a ride thing for Monstors Inc. There probably is room back there behind main street.

The Monsters attraction will be going into the former location of Timekeeper. It will not be able to extend behind Main Street as the Timekeeper building is completly blocked in on that side by Buzz Lightyear and the Tomorrowland Terrace.

Oh! That is SOOOOOO cool!!! In addition to showing that, yeah, they have quite a bit of land to play with there, it's so neat to see which buildings are really all connected, etc. Cool, cool link! Thanks!

The rumor is that it is possibly going to be a stage show and not a ride at all.
