I mentioned this in my live trip report but I think it merits its own thread.
I checked in to the Fort this past Tuesday leaving Sunday. On Wednesday I stopped in the Settlement Trading Post to complain about no FW merchandise. I had done the same thing that same day at the Meadow TP and got the name/address of the VP over the Wilderness Region (lodge plus fort) to right a letter to about how we want our fort merchandise back.
Anyway a CM lady working the Settlement TP cut me off mid sentence and said FWMerchandise was "coming back within the year". This was no summer intern CM, she looked like and talked like an experienced retail CM. She said managers had gotten the message that campers love their tire covers, welcome mats, and other fort gear.
TIFWIW. I hope she is telling the truth. I'm still gonna write my letter to the VP.
I did not verify this rumor with any bus drivers, lifeguards, Trails End hostesses, or Chip & Dale. So we'll wait and see.
