I have a friend who is a CM told me they are going to be putting a new ride in MGM for 2010. It will be a very scary dark ride. It will be based on villians and it will be a dark haunted house where your darkest fears are realized. It will be a departure for disney to take this own. The only other scary attraction was AE and Michael Eisner thought it was too scary for disney world. However, the new management thinks they need something to bring the older kids here instead of universal so this is in the works.

It sounds really good. It will be a very intense realistic ride where things pop up and disturbing images flash on screens.

I almost read that too quickly and thought this super scary ride was going to have an AA of Michael Eisner *shudder*

should be a good ride.....wonder how well it will work with tower of terror all ready there. are they removing anything?

"disturbing images"? in Disney World? I don't like this!

Now you stop that! You will frighten small chidren by speaking of a M. Ei$ner AA!..........:) Whoa, actually, now that I think about it, that idea frightens me!

This is one of those old ongoing rumors. One of the original thoughts was to put it where CC is.

Just keep in mind that CM rumors tend to have a very low degree of reliability.

So I'm not going to be able to ride the new monorail line from my Persian themed Hotel to MGM where I'll get on the People Mover to ride Fire Mountain then pop over and get the crap scared out of me on this new unnamed ride?
*shakes fist at CM Bus Driver*

No ... But you will be able to go to Disney Louisiana very soon.:rotfl:

Don't forget the monorail to the 5th gate! :lmao:

I think it would be awesome if this rumor was true! While I'm not comfortable with distrubing images on screens, I think a classy House of Disney Villans would be awesome...:thumbsup2

I think that is sounds cool, another dark ride for the teens and up group would be cool

Remember, this is coming from a CM, not Disney.... So, take it with many grains of salt... In fact, I understand a Monster's Inc coaster, or one themed to Rat or Crush, is coming first...

This is GREAT news! Disney needs a new dark ride - finally!!
This really can't be called "GREAT news" because it isn't any kind of news. It's simply an unsubstantiated rumor from cast member (who heard it from another cast member, who heard it from another cast member, who heard it from another cast member, who heard it from another cast member...).

And I wouldn't get excited that WDW is "finally" getting a new dark ride in the form of a "dark haunted house where your darkest fears are realized." That rumor doesn't pass the "would Disney mangement do this?" test.

At least not current management (see "Alien Encounter" for past management decision making similar to this)

Don't forget times do change and so do younger people. Eventually Disney is going to have to get a little edgier to get the crowd that rather go to Universal.
