New reserved location for Main Street Electrical Parade **now with Festival of Fantasy page 5 #99**

By far the worst meal we have had at any WDW restaurant that still survives. Nothing is even a close second place. Absolutely embarrassing frozen dinner style food with awful plating to boot. (Just look at the picture on Kenny's website that is linked). Unsauced pasta with a spoonfull of sauce lazily ladled on top, with an almost undetectable amount of cheese rationed on top of the meatballs. For $45? Seriously? I mean really! I expect hospital food to look better than this:

I see absolutely nothing wrong with that presentation, now can't speak to the taste.

I was surprised to see this dining/parade viewing pop up on the Disney Parks Blog. Tony's is not a restaurant people tend to flock to. I prefer other parade viewing locations, so I think I'll be skipping this one.

Silly question but...

Is Tony's really so bad? I'd been thinking about trying it on our next trip, since it's the only Magic Kingdom restaurant we haven't eaten at yet. I was thinking the Lady and the Tramp-ish theme might appeal, and we do like our Americanized Italian food. (We like the real thing, too, we're just not terribly fussy where our food is concerned.)
Definitely not a "foodie" here. I think Tony's is charming, have always had good service there, and the food was fine. Yes it's overpriced, but isn't all the food at WDW? lol I don't know if I'd eat there just for the parade seating though, but I don't think any of the dining packages are worth a reserved seat.

Which is exactly why WDW is only offering it for this restaurant. Hard to argue with the brilliance of it.

Someone on the planning thread had just recently made reference to Tony's not being a popular restaurant...and here this is. Hopefully, they've tweaked their red sauce!!

One time during free dining we were unable to get in anywhere and Tony's let us do a walk up. We were seated on the terrace and were able to watch the flag ceremony and it was a great experience.

Looks like they're not so worried about the canteen anymore now that ADRs have opened there. We've never done a dining package. I've made reservations a couple of times, but when it came closer, I just didn't see the value.

I prefer the fast passes for the evening shows. It really does well to keep people away from the ride fast passes and one of our favorite memories was the fast pass MSEP in front of the castle on our daughter's first night when she was little.

Plus I hate the nagging suspicion that they were just using it to test JUST HOW MUCH people want a reserved spot without a ton of people around. Well when all 30,000 people are on main street, pretty darn badly!

Thank goodness I'm not the only one who can't believe Tony's is still up and running. Pairing a meal at Tony's with the parade is laughable. I don't take pleasure in giving negative meal reviews, but our dinner was so bad I always try to warn people. Tony's was the worst meal we ever had at WDW too. We did not get sick; maybe because our food was inedible, but those meatballs were like tasteless rubber balls loaded with filler...UGH!!! I don't know what can they opened up for that sauce, but it was a disaster. I am not some fabulous cook, but I was really tempted to
leave my recipie for meatballs and sauce with along with the check...anything would be an improvement! It's too bad, because Tony's is a cute restaurant in a great location. Could be so much better.

A properly sauced dish looks much more like this. Sauce is supposed to coat the pasta and be absorbed by it. It should never be lumped on top.

I prefer it the way you describe, but that's a matter of cooking style. Sauce on top of the noodles doesn't make the dish bad.

I prefer mine lumped on top. It reminds me of home. :teeth: Maybe I'll like Tony's.

Yes. I'm glad we had our chance to watch MSEP from the reserved flagpole area, twice, for free, using FastPasses. Saves me from any desire to ever pay for this. We'll watch it in Frontierland in the future.

Thanks for posting the video review! I watched the whole review. It was really nice to see what the food looked like in the video.

I just booked this. We had some FD credits to use. I'd figure what the heck. Could care less about the food. Just want a nice break in MK and this will make waiting for my mom easier later at night.

So I read my confirmation. And it states this location does not participate in the dining plan!! Kenny write 1 TS. Is Tony's generally not part of dining plan or are they not including dinner packages??? Has anyone noticed a change at HS with dinner packages??? After this and the rumored 2TS for character meals, We might be done with Disney. Past 5 yrs of free dining was a nice memory.

I'm just irritated because they didn't release packages for NovemberNow I've got one more thing to stalk. I'm totally prepared for the food to be awful after seeing this thread but a place to watch the parade with 2 small kids that will actually be able to see the parade...yes Disney just take my money already.

But Disneys target is not those in the know or repeats. They are targeting on new visitors with big budgets that will buy anything they perceive as getting more. They don't know the restaurant never books out, for reason, or they don't need that fastpass.

It's such a shame that Disney ignores this problem. It is no secret that Tony's consistently gets poor reviews. And now, they are luring in guests with the parade viewing area. Really, I have a high tolerance for getting frustrated/upset with Disney, but there is just no excuse to repeatedly serve "inedible" food. That is probably why the service can be subpar at times. I imagine they deal with dissatisfied guests frequently. :sad2:
