Rumor? that Disney is creating a new reservation policy that may be higher rates on the weekends. How do you book your vacation? Room only, package or DVC?

how about all of the above.

use DVC, room only, packages, and sometimes offsite.

We always stay at a DVC property by renting points and rent room only reservations before and after our stay. We have Annual Passes so tickets are not an issue and have no interest in the Dining Plan as our DVC stay provides a kitchen and I love to cook. This new reservation plan at Disney may impact our stays as our bookend days are always on the weekends. Could be that we will change our three-four bookend days to a DTD resort or Swan/Dolphin instead of a mod Disney resort depending on how Disney rates look like under the new plans in 2008.

We used room only when we had APs but lately have been taking advantage of package pricing including free dining. Makes a big difference for us.

I've done room only and package in the past, but chose package as that is what I have done (a couple times) most recently.

I am already used to the higher weekend rates, because it has been that way with DVC points. Although it was nice to book a trip once in a while with cash and be able to get a cheap weekend rate.

This new policy will work really well with a Universal/Disney split--we'll spend the weekend at Universal (with FOTL) and Sun-Thurs at Disney World.
