How many points does it cost to book at 4 night criuse? I am interested in renting points for a cruise. Can I even do this?. Sorry, I'm new to all of this.

The new guide for cruising is located on the web at dvcmember. I don't know if you need to have a member id and password to see it or not, but it varies of course by season and room size.

Category 10 ranges from 104-153 (inside deluxe stateroom). Each person is charged the points to stay in the room, so if you have 2 parents, and 2 kids, you are looking at 316-552 depending on the season.

I went on a 7-day cruise in Feb 2002 and it was the best vacation I ever had, so I would highly recommend it if you have the points. (It took me 2 1/2 years of points to get my vacation "paid" for). They will allow you to pay points for 2 guests, and then charge $$ for the other 2, if you need to, but you can't pay 1/2 points and 1/2 money for any guest. Its one or the other.

If you need to "borrow" points, I may have some for sale.

Your wouldn't want to "rent" points for a cruise. It is cheaper to book the cruise with cash..... Most of us that are DVC members are renting the amount/value of points to pay our cruises with cash.

Ex: last year for three day cat 11 i think I paid 62 points per adult . 62 X 2 =
124 points. I have seen cash rates approx $400-500 per 1st two person
at the cash rate.

If the going rate on renting points is $10 per point, I would only have to rent off say 100 points to pay for trip instead of 124. or rent the 124 and have a couple hundred dollars spending money for trip.

Renting points are really only a bargain when used at DVC resorts. Although there are many other options to use the points at non-DVC WDW resorts, cruises, etc., the value per point just isn't there.
