New Remy Dessert Experience

The desserts were all full sized. Out of the 8 people who were there, i would be surprised if 2 were able to finish. Was that 8 people at your table, or in the whole restaurant? What is the limit of people they will accommodate for the desserts? We ended up skipping dinner because there was so much food. Were you in a food coma?

They don't advertise this much on the cruise. Only in the Cove and the Concierge Lounge.

While this is advertised as about eating desserts, what we found most enjoyable was the interaction with the staff. Chef Patrick was interesting and entertaining. He had no set talk so the conversation was driven by those in attendance. He told stories about working at Disneyland Paris and opening the Dream and Fantasy. He answered questions about how he prepared specific courses on the Remy menu, and discussed growing up in France.

If this was just about dessert I would say it was overpriced but getting to have an engaging discussion with an accomplished chef made it worth the price of admission.

Sounds great! Loved the pics!

4 couples at 4 different tables. Well spread out. They didn't say how many they could accommodate but it seemed like they were fine with 8 and wouldn't have wanted more than 12. I think thats why they are not really advertising it onboard. They said they wanted it intimate.

We were barely hungry at breakfast the next morning.

If you want to do this I would try to make sure your restaurant that night is something you wouldn't mind skipping. We had originally be scheduled to have dinner at Remy the same evening and were very fortunate we decided to change it once aboard.

Wow. That looks soooo delicious and tempting. Thanks for sharing. Any pics of the rest of the menu?

Given the size of those I guess it doesn't make sense for us to have Remy's brunch that morning... Hmmm wonder if I should try to move Remy's brunch in order to do this...

Sorry, I did not take photos of the menu at either brunch or dinner. That was the whole menu for the dessert event.

I wouldn't do this right after the brunch unless you have an insatiable appetite.

Sorry I meant pictures of the rest of the desserts - I think you posted just posted the first few ? Unless I am missing something? They look so good. Looks like we may have to do some rethinking of our schedule...

yup, missed photos of 2 of the desserts.

The first photos are of the cheesecake, missed the fondant, the next 3 are visible on the serving cart, and i didn't photograph the soufflé. It was served dry in an animators palate espresso cup i believe.

All were great, but if you were to skip something I would suggest the macaron. It was heavy and not as unique as the others.

Thank you so much for posting about your experience.

We have been looking at the Nov. 1st Eastern cruise and wanted to hold off to see if it possibly went *GT.
BUT me being a dessert freak and seeing this experience was only being offered once a sailing, I went and ahead and moved our April 2015 dummy over so that I can book this at 105 days. I don't want to miss getting a chance to try it out.

Does anyone have anymore info on the Remy Dessert Party? Do you think its worth the money? Does anyone have anymore pictures to share? Thanks!

We did the Dessert experience on our Fantasy cruise last month & had a wonderful time. Chef Cedrik, made the "show" explaining all about the desserts from a-z, including a few zingers at any desserts not originating in Paris (he was a hoot). First observation the desserts were pretty much "full" size, thankfully we had late seating, otherwise we would have been to full to eat dinner at the early seating. 2nd there is a wine pairing which they just stared pouring, but never told anyone, there was an up charge for it. There were a lot of quizzical looks when folks got a bill at the end. Luckily DW & I just had ice tea. Bottom line I thought it was worth the money, but probably won't do it every cruise, we'll stick with Dinner & Brunch.

Wow! If I ever step foot again in Fantasy I'm TOTALLY doing this experience!!!! I love me some desserts!

We did it. It's a LOT of dessert (and some really, really good wine!), but we found it well worth the price. They put all of us at the chef's table in the back and so we had a nice, communal interaction with the chef and with each other. It was really awesome.

I just booked ours online for November. I am so looking forward to trying this.
How many people were there for yours? I would love to sit like that with everyone and the chef.
Pics?

I want to say there was a grand total of 11 of us. Pics will be a bit slow: we just got back and I shoot with a DSLR in RAW format, so I need to do some post-processing. But... I do have photos of all the desserts. I'll try to get those posted in the next few days.

Also: the wine pairings are very much a "yes". Ours were (almost) all dessert wines, and I know the regular cost for a glass of one of them goes as high as $18-ish. You get the whole suite for $25. (Warning: these are sweet wines. They're high quality, but they are sweet wines.)

Ohhhh thats good, sweet wines are my favorite.
Did you do an Eastern or Western?

Looks fab :goodvibes

Surprised two had nuts in though?

We got a call from Remy several hours before the event asking whether we had any food allergies or dietary restrictions. I presume nobody in our group had any nut allergies.

say what the dress code is for the Desert Experience? I'm not seeing it, and wondering if DH Really does need to pack a jacket since it's Remy, or does not since it isn't dinner. . .

Thank you!

Thank you!

My husband wore a button down for brunch in Remy in Feb. So I think a button down and slacks will be fine for the dessert experience.
Thats what he's going to wear when we try it in November.
