"Freud maintains that a fantasy about two giraffes demonstrates Hans' mastering his castration complex. Hans says that a big giraffe came into his room during the night as well as a crumpled giraffe. Hans took the crumpled one away from the big giraffe and the big giraffe called out. After a while the big giraffe stopped calling out and Hans then sat on top of the crumpled giraffe. Freud interprets the giraffes as representing Hans' parents."

According to Freud, the crumpled giraffe represents the female reproduction organs, and the big giraffe, the male reproduction organs. Taking away the crumpled giraffe, is supposed to symbolise Hans taking his mum away from his dad. Sitting on the crumpled giraffe is supposed to represent his desire to have sex with his mother.

All that from a 4yr old O_o

Hows you?

I'm good :) I'm pretty much in love with my new pony but I seem to have very little time and I am worried that i'm not paying enough attention to my homework because of it (mind you the only homework I have is english and i'm just a little stressed with it at the moment, even though nothing I am doing counts towards the GCSE)
How be McAsh?

Ooo sounds hectic and congrats about your wee new pony :)

Ash is okay, ash is doing Religious Education homework about Euthanasia.

it aint as exciting as it sounds

It's because we've been watching Rainman for every lesson on Autism so far, so i'm hoping tomorrow, we actually start learning about it.

The Sally-Anne test.

There are 2 dolls. One called Sally, one called Anne. There are 2 boxes. Sally puts a marble in a box and leaves the room. Anne moves the marble into the other box. Sally comes back in to her her marble. Which box will she look in?

Autistic children will mainly say the box the marble is in now, and where it previously was. There was something like this in my book. The main character's headteacher asks him what's in a smarties tube she has. He says Smarties. She opens it and out comes a pencil. She puts the pencil back in and asks what his mum would think is in the smarties tube if she came in and was asked the same question, and he said a pencil.

Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime!

Which is the book i'm reading right now :p

It's a good book. I'm rereading it for the lesson (so I can understand it more) She noticed today at break and said it was a good representation of autism.
