New Question for all us "Left-Behinders"

This is a multi-faceted question, and I want DETAILS!

If you have gone to a "pin party", "pin meet", "pin barbecue", "pin lunch with friends"--You get the idea!-- then tell us:

1) How many have you been to?

2) Do you meet on a regular basis, once, once in a while?

3) How many people come?

4) Where have they been? (restaurants, libraries, homes, etc.)

5)Do you play games?

6) Do you trade, watch, visit?

I'll start, but I'll try to keep it brief(promise) cause you know how I get going! I have been to one meet--Parkhopper's Party. It was in an 2-room "office" that Parkhopper has access to, so we had no time restraints, etc. Vince and Suzi provided all the food (I figured if nothing else I could eat and blend into the walls, since I didn't know anybody) About 38 people there--a few kids. We played fun games; I mostly watched--first trade was for my 25 yr. old son who didn't go; didn't really trade for me to the end when most everybody left! Needed a lot of help, and got it from everybody there--but still don't really know how to trade!!! Had fun visiting and starting to get to know people, but a lot of "famous" people from this board were there I think that I didn't meet, cause I tried to stay sort of in the background! (Though once you get to know me, believe me I don't STAY in the background!)

Have met one friend on the boards, who has another friend that reads the boards who was at the party, and they have met twice for lunch and to look at each other's pins, and they want me to come, so we are trying to arrange it, but we don't live real close to each other. I would like to meet more often though so I could share this addiction in person, 'cause that is part of what makes it so fun!

I've never been to an "official" pin meet and I've been collecting for 18 months now. Our extended family are mostly all pin freaks. We get together at least once a month at my house or my son's house and spend the day eating, trading, talking Disney experiences and watching whichever Boston based sports team is playing.(that's for the men of the group who secretly trade but want to appear cool) We have my DH, Ralph and me, Charlene, my DS Kevin and DIL, Kim, my DD Kerin, her roomates, Sue and Ricciann, my DD Kathy, my DDI's mom, Carolyn, her DH, David, four DGD, Samantha, Eliza, Tess and Lily. My DGS, Spencer even has a lanyard (he's 3) but it only has about 15 pins right now. We frequent WDW as often as possible, two to three times per year and feed our addiction. We have very hot and heavy discussions prior to trading....nothing as sophisticated as normal trades, but we have a great time! We all have multiple lanyards and trading books.

My DS, DIL, DD and two roomates are headed to WDW on Monday morning, to pick over much used lanyards, I'm afraid, but work constraints dictated the time frame. I get to stay home and babysit five grandchildren, three dogs and a cat. Luck me.......only 42 days until we leave for WDW!!!

I have been to four pin meets, not including all the trading I have done in Disney World.

My first was in Va, organized by Judy Sue and Mike. We wound up at the Rainforest Cafe because there was a mix up with the restaurant - and that worked out great. Everyone ordered there food off the menu and they allowed us to stay as long as we wanted. We were there about 4 hours - that is about my limited with trading - I really get worn out.

My next meet was here localing - at the public library - organized by Kris and her family.
It was so great to see everyone from all over come to my neighborhood. I think there were about 50 people there. We had great snacks and prizes and games. It was fun and did lots of great trading.

My next two were the Parkhopper Events - they were awesome. Very organized. Suzi and Vince are such wonderful hosts. The food was great, even though, I am usually too excited to eat. And I have not tried the Meetballs yet - geez. And the company was great too. I have done my best trading at these events.

Here is looking to many more pin events in this area and I can not wait to get to WDW. I am going on September 28 and will be there for the 100 Magical Year Celebration on October 1.

On September 22 when the pins come out at the Disney Store I am trying to organize a little something at the mall near me. They will not let me bring food or prizes so I am rethinking - but figure alot of pin traders will be in the mall because of the new pin releases.

Ruthie, maybe you can come there - in Baltimore - not too far.

or traded in person with anyone but cms. (but I have traded with a lot of great people on this board)

I have been to two DIS meets. At the first one we all spent a lot of time looking at the pins of Tammyh from Oregon. She has so many disneyland pins and it was great to see so many. Even then I was a small fish and only took a few to share. No trading though.

The second meet I took more pins including my traders but Tammy did not bring hers but Ebutte did and we all looked at each others pins. ebutte gave me an extra mvmcp pin she had and someday I hope to find her the castle with tink dangle that she would really like to have and i have a maybe trade with tammyh but that is it.. Not to many pintraders in my neck of the woods, they seem to grow better on the east coast.

You know the answer to that question! Lana and I have met twice and talked for approx. 3 hrs each time we met. She filled me in on all the fun I missed at Parkhopper's Pin Meet. I've never been to a pin meet before. I've only traded with CMs at WDW and fellow DISers.
