New Program Starting in May 2005

I have read that there is a new program starting in May of 2005 at WDW... is this true? if it is true, does anyone know anything about it??

Just bumping.... I would like to know this info. also. This is when we are planning on going. The only thing I've heard is Disneyland's 50th Anniversary Celebration.

The Happiest Celebration on Earth begins on 05/05/05 celebrating DL's 50th birthday. It will be celebrated at ALL of the Disney parks. Could that be what you're referring to? All of the details have yet to be released. Probably the beginning of the year we should start hearing more. I'll be there (see countdown below). Lots of attractions openning at all of the parks. I would suspect WDW (and other parks) will be very crowded during the kickoff. I've made my ressies for Pop for 2 weeks in May and plan to be right in the middle of all of the celebrating. Can't wait. But I would also suspect not many room discounts will be found during the first week of May. Glad I'm married to a CM!! Got to love the CM discounts on the rooms!!!

How long is this celebration going on for? is it 1 week or 2? We are going on May 7 for ds 2nd b-day!!

Hi!

I hope that this celebration will also be celebrated on the Magic & Wonder!!! Going on the Wonder 5/5-5/8/05 and following it up with a week at a DVC at WDW!!!! My neice (10 yo) will be performing with her dance trouppe at the Magic Kingdom on Tuesday, 5/10!! DS will be celebrating his 12th b-day on Castaway Cay!! Sounds like a wonderful time! The BIGGEST celebration we attended at WDW was WDW's 20th anniversary party at Epcot in 1992 - HUGE Mardi Gras floats, fireworks during the day with hang-gliders & lots of aerials.

woodchuck the celebration runs until 2006 (probably the end). The kick off-05/05/05, will start the celebration with lots of activities. The openning of Soarin' in EPCOT, the openning of the Stunt Show in MGM, and lots of other activities and shows. In 2006 the new ride in AK will open. I only really see the weekend of 05/05/05 being the worse. I'm preparing for the worse and hoping for the best. I would gather we should start seeing more info on this the beginning of the new year. I'm thinking the rooms should go quickly the first week of May. I made my ressies in July for the first 2 weeks of May to make sure I got in.
