New Prices @ Biergarten EPCOT

After eating at the Biergarten in EPCOT many times over the years, my husband and I were surprised to see an increase in their prices on our most recent visit on 5/27/08.
The lunch used to be $18.99. It is now $24.99!!!!! The dinner has also increased but I'm not sure of the exact amt. so I won't post it. The great food and show are the same.

Disney has instituted "holiday pricing" for the entire time from Memorial Day weekend through the 4th of July holiday. It's my guess that you received the $5/per adult surcharge during your visit. I was so mad about this surcharge, as we are traveling mid-June (no holiday!) that I even emailed Disney about it. I got a response back, but it doesn't change anything of course. I almost changed my vacation dates, but this really is the best time for us to go this year, so we will endure the surcharge! This surcharge has been added to all buffets (all you care to eat places) and character meals. With 5 kids, that's pretty much all of our TS meals. And...5 out of 7 of us are "Disney adults" so we will really take a hit on the wallet with this.

Being new to all this, I'm really getting a bad feeling about the "captive audience" that is evidently all a part of the "engineering" of the WDW experience. From the basically gigantic private compound that makes it a job to get on or off "campus," to the dining plan.....well, we'll see. I will reserve judgement, and make a thread of my own in about a month, after we return.

5/27 was during holiday pricing. The regular price for lunch is $19.99.

But the way food prices are going up, I would not be surprised to see this increase.
