About a month or so ago I saw there was a new excursion at Grand Cayman. I had already picked our excursions several months before. I called to see if the new excursion would be available for our cruise, Jan 18. 7night, West Caribbean. I was told it wouldn't be. I was looking at the app today and saw it is now available for our cruise. I called to double check and it is available. The new excursion is the Coral World Beach(7mile beach). So happy I was able to switch to this, I didn't really care for the other one I had first chosen. Thought I'd share incase anyone else had seen the excursion but thought it wasn't available, because now it is, yea!!

I saw this new excursion too. Price seems pretty high for only transportation to and from the beach, one drink, and use of a lounge chair and umbrella, but I’m still thinking about it for our cruise in May.

I would really love to hear about it when you get back. Curious how crowded it may be, what the drink prices are like, how the area is for swimming, and any other details you care to share!

We did 7 mile on our own in Grand Cayman. We took a taxi there and a bus back. Super easy and cheap. I would not personally pay for an excursion to do it.

We just booked this too, same cruise! I was a little hesitant because of lack of reviews since it’s so new but it looks beautiful, I wanted to book through Disney vs Royal Palms and was hesitant about White House

I had originally booked the White House, but was really nervous about it. I had read a lot of mixed reviews on White House--mostly that it wasn't a nice beach because of all the rocks. Coral World had good reviews, so I'm excited for it. I'm hoping it will be a smaller excursion size since it was added late for our cruise. Getting Excited!!

Me too! I’ve been worrying about CC getting cancelled this time of year so when I heard that did in fact happen to the cruise that got back today, I really wanted to be sure to hedge my bets and get a good beach day in somewhere. Hopefully we get a beautiful day at the beach at the Coral Club and CC both, but if not I’ll be glad to have had one!

We've cruised twice before in Jan and both times we were able to dock at CC. In 2018 our cruise wasn't able to go to St. Maarten because of a storm. Instead we got to go to CC twice. It was great!! We had a beach excursion booked for St. Maarten anyway. We got excursion money back. Got more time at CC than would have gotten at St. Maarten and better beach time/activities. Weather reports at all our ports say mid 80s and no rain. Hopefully it will stay the same.

I saw that, too, but thought it might be a bit high priced. It doesn't come with a meal, even. Then again, it's 4 hours, so I don't know.

I agree it is high priced, nearly double what our beach day at St. Thomas was(went to Secret Sands beach, loved it). We paid something like $119 for a beach day in San Juan several years ago. It included a meal and was horrible, the beach and the food! I know we could do a beach excursion on our own for cheaper, but I'd be nervous about doing it in GC since we have to tender. I'd rather pay more for peace of mind.

We just did a beach day on our own in Grand Cayman (Jan. 6) and it was super easy.
It was our first trip to GC and we tendered to the secondary port, then DCL gave us bus passes to the main shopping area.
From the downtown shops (near the main port) it's a 5-minute walk to the bus station by the library.
There we took the island shuttle to Seven Mile Beach for $2.50 (per person/each way). We noticed locals seemed to be paying $2 per ride but I was told $2.50 so that's what we did.
So transportation is cheap and available for all. Getting into the beach club and chairs/umbrellas are a different matter, of course.

This. Grand Cayman is such a safe, friendly country. I spent three weeks there in 2018. Get a taxi to the port, go to Governor's beach area, it is on Seven Mile Beach (free). Take a towel to sit on and enjoy.

Just wondering if you ended up doing this excursion? Would love to hear a bit about it if you did!

We were on the Jan. 18 cruise from a few weeks ago. Unfortunately the GC port was closed due to bad weather, so our GC day turned into a sea day. Hoping to try again, but will be after 2021(have different cruise already booked for then)

I appreciate you coming back with an update. I’m sorry you weren’t able to get to Grand Cayman on your cruise, but it’s just another reason to take another cruise down the line! Have fun on your next adventure!

Thanks. This was our second time to do the Western Caribbean cruise. First time was in 2017 and we missed GC and Jamaica on that cruise also. This was suppose to be our re-do, oh well. We've done 3 Eastern Caribbean cruises and haven't missed a port on them. Hopefully some day we'll actually get to step foot on GC and Jamaica, they look really nice from the ship's deck, lol!! Hope you have a great trip and if you go on this excursion I'd love to hear about it.

We ended up booking a snorkelling trip instead 🙂 Were you able to dock at CC? Curious how serenity bay is looking these days after the damage last year.

It was $2,50 US and $2 GC. Different currency.

We did go to CC, but stayed on the family beach.

Not sure what the price of this excursion is, but sharing some info/perspective. We were in Bermuda last year, and headed to Horseshoe Beach on our own (not with a cruise ship premium tacked on) - $50 for 2 chairs and an umbrella, whether you were there for 5 hours or for 1.
