I just got the All Ears newsletter and it says in it that you can now make your Palo, spa, excursion, Flounders reservations online ahead of time...is this new? How awesome would that be to be able to board the ship and not run all around to make reservations??

Here's what it says:

Disney Cruise Line News: Advance reservations are now available for the spa, shore excursions, dining at Palo, and registering your children for babysitting and youth activities. You must first register online at the DisneyCruise.com website and then you can make reservations online. Your cruise must be paid in full in order to take advantage of this new service. Note that there are still a number of "quirks" in the system, but try back periodically. Editor-in-Chief Deb Wills breezed through the process initially, but has not always been able to access her information since. You can also call Disney Cruise Line directly to make these reservations at 800-951-3532.

The timelines for reservations are as follows:
Concierge Cruisers - reservations can be made up to 105 days before embarkation
Castaway Club Members - 90 days prior to embarkation
All other sailors - 75 days prior to embarkation

Thats great for conceirge, and pretty good for Castaway Club members but would it leave those first time cruisers out of luck as for getting into Palos?

I'm a first time cruiser and I got Palo brunch and High Tea reservations online. We didn't want dinner, but it was available still.

thanks CM Mom ~
Don't know how I missed that thread!

roscodog ~ I was wondering the same thing about the Palo reservations ~ I hope I'll still be able to get something at 75 days out.

pppiglet ~ when did you make your reservations?

I'm pretty excited about not having to run all around to register the kids, make Palo and spa reservations! Now we can board the ship and start relaxing right away!!

We got reservations for Palo's less than a week ago and we sail on 22 May. Maybe part of that is because the online reservations are still so new. I would have the same concern for first time cruisers once more people learn of the online reservations system.

Cepmom......I made our reservations last week. We sail on June 11.

We are a family of 5 and have two cabins and two reservation numbers, do you have to register for excursions/palos/spa twice (i.e. under each reservation number individualy).? Or, can we just put all the activities under one of the reservation #'s?

and she basically said I got bad info and that they cannot book advance ressies. I see most of you have done it online so I will try it that way.

Thanks!

I can't understand why CM's don't have the latest information...it makes me crazy! Did you try calling the number in my original post? (800-951-3532)

Blows my mind sometimes...I have a feeling the on-line reservatioins will always have slots and I bet even when you board you may still get something ecspecially on the 7 day cruises.... :rotfl:

I am ready to do mine (July 17) 90 days out!!! :cool1: :cool1:

What about if you have REAS?
I thought I read that with this new system, those with REAS can also book Palo and spa ressies online early like the concierge. (Or I could be mistaken? :confused3 )

Even 90 days out will be good, but it seems to me that in order to keep REAS worthwhile, they would allow ressies a little earlier for those with the package. I don't know...like I said, I thought I read it here somewhere.

Thanks!

Sorry...it appears I double posted... :badpc:

People with the REAS package can book 105 days out. We kept our REAS package for this sept b/c of that. The only problem it seems with this is that some people's ressiers are not showing that they have the REAS package. 105 days before my cruise is May 29 so we'll see if. If not I will let DU know so they can book them for me on this date.

You'll have to keep me posted! :flower: I'd be excited to see if it works for you. We booked directly through DCL, so hopefully the problem with REAS not showing up on our ressies won't be a problem.

But definitely let me know what happens for you on the 29th!

Thanks!

It's great that we can book on-line now....

But my greatest fear is that I'll book Palo's........get on the ship and then find out that in my dining rotation I'll be missing a night I really wanted to be in the dining room.

As far as booking the Palo breakfast though, you would be safe. It is only on the at sea days. I think I will book the Palo dinner also and keep my fingers crossed. :goodvibes

I know they arn't guaranteed, but you could still request and then plan by that. :cool1:

I just want to make sure that I don't schedule ours for Pirate pirate: night or Formal night. DD has an awesome dress and so we can't do Palo that night. She would be crushed.

If you are on the 4 day request Palo for either the 1st or last night since you will have a repeat restaurant on those nights. Just a thougt? :goodvibes

Good luck...I bet once on board you may be able to switch around if times are available.
