New Pin Trader Question

Hi everyone. On our last trip to WDW, grandma bought my DS 3years old the 75 Years of Mickey starter kit. He enjoyed the trading so much that now my husband also wants to start trading on our next visit. I understand from reading other posts that you can only trade Disney pins with CMs. Do people trade non-Disney pins with other visitors? For example, my husband is a big hockey fan. He is interested in meeting other hockey fans at WDW through trading hockey pins on his lanyard.

I am not going to be in Walt Disney World for a while but I do have a hockey pin that I traded while at the Salt Lake City winter olympics. It is a silver pin that says Los Angeles Kings. I traded with a kid at the bobsled track for it. The back says copyright NHL 1993 Fun & Fancy. Don't know if you have it or not. If not, I would be happy to trade with you.

While 99.9% of the pins traded in WDW are Disney pins it never hurts to throw a few others on your lanyard. One of the first trades I ever made in WDW was for a Marvin Martian (Warner Bros.) pin. I have also traded for a few other WB characters and a few Olympic pins. Enjoy!!
