Thanks for the speculation!!! I think the fact that we "piecemeal" our Disney stuff might be a disadvantage for their targeted marketing. We own pretty much every DVD but we buy them at the store, we are DVC members but have stayed at All-Star and mods many, many times, we buy our park tickets apart from our hotel package, etc. We have the Dolphin booked for April and we are also on a waitlist for Boardwalk. The Dolphin rate is $194 so I don't think we will find much better inclusive of all the new Disney deals anyway (which is what DW is telling me at this point!) Anyway, I guess I just feel a little left out by not getting a PIN!!!
I bet you could get away with buying a 1-day base and still get the $500 giftcard. Maybe I'll call just for kicks to see what kind of pricing is available.
If you do find out, let me know. Now I'm thinking of taking my oldest Son in June for Star Wars Weekends-he is crazy about Star Wars. If they let us book and I have to pay adult prices for him, it still is not a horrible deal. The $500 will cover food and maybe a souvinier.
I'm signed up for everything Disney as well and NEVER receive pin discount codes. I don't know how Disney marketing decides who will receive these offers and who won't, but it is very disappointing to Disney fans who are always left out of these offers.
I sometimes wonder if the fact that we go 2-3 times a year WDW has decided that we don't need a PIN because they know that we'll show up regardless. Darn them.... they are right but throw the dog a bone will ya.
Ya reading this Disney?!?!? I want a PIN!!!! (stomping feet with hands on hips)
I got the free dining pin which doesn't work for me. There is a pin for buy a $500 gift card for $395 for souviners, that's the one I need! Would someone be willing to PM the code to me? I'd be ever so happy!!!! I can share my free dining with someone.
What do you think the criteria is for receiving a PIN?? We are signed up for what seems like all of Disney's newsletters, etc. and have been a bazillion times...??? I would love to get free dining...
I think it really is just luck of the draw, but it's possible that since you have been before (and possibly have another trip planned for next year?) that they're not enticed to send you one. I've been signed up for all the Disney mailings for a while and I've gotten the Disney Destinations e-mails almost every time they've sent them out until the ones that I could actually use (January).
However, I signed my fiance up for the mailings a few weeks ago, and he got the Free Dining e-mail this morning. He's never been to Disney before and that e-mail address is not on ANY of the information that Disney has for him. The Free Dining is no good for us, because we will have Annual Passes when we go in June, and if we did it we would most likely put my youngest brother and sister on the ressie with us, and they don't eat, so Free Dining is kind of silly when they're just going to complain that every restaurant doesn't have Pizza, Mashed Potatoes and Macaroni & Cheese. I could take some of my older siblings, but they're adults so we'd have to pay an additional $25 a night which would nullify the Free Dining offer.
I got both of the pin codes today!!! I've never gotten a pin code before and now I get 2 in the same day. Shame I won't be using either of them. I wish they would send me a code when I need one.

I called today and I was able to book a one day base ticket, no problem. I didn't book a trip because I really cannot pull my kid out of school, again!
We were debating the 4/3 deal, and I actually got the kids stay free PIN this morning. I've never gotten one before, so I was surprised. We were planning a 2010 trip with lots of family. We'd like to switch it to 2009 now, but not everyone can do it, and we can't afford to go both years. We have to make a decision soon, though!
