Well, not just yet. (Made ya look!)

By this weekend I should be the proud owner of a new digital camera. My old one had died... it just stopped working. It was as if it needed new batteries and I kept putting new ones in and saying, these batteries must be old before they are even sold!

DH convinced me that after four years, the camera just got tired and decided to go to sleep and join all the other sleeping electronic thingamajigs that no longer go bump in the night. (Am I rambling here?)

We have been shopping around for a little while now and one guy in one store actually told us that four years for a digital camera is very good. They don't last as long as "real" cameras. That's reassuring, so I'm gonna spend 350 bucks on a new camera that won't last.... well, I guess we will also be buying the extra protection plan this time around!

Anyway, soon, very soon, I hope to be back posting pictures of my pathetic garden on this board. Stay tuned....

Okay, no fair....you made me look.

Can't wait to see the new photos of your garden. I'll bet that garden isn't pathetic, at all.

Yup, made me look. Congratulations on your new investment! Can't wait to see your new garden pics and I'm sure they are not pathetic at all.

What camera are you getting? My bros in law came back from Japan with the best pics taken with I think a Canon Power Shot 4 megs. I have a Nikon 3100. It takes a good pic. Gee, I hope mine lasts more than 4 years though:eek:

Got the camera! I stayed with Olympus. I really just wanted a point and shoot camera so, I got the Olympus Stylus 410, 4 megapixels. We looked for a brief time at the Sony cybershot W1 with 5.1 megapixels but I decided that there was just too much tinkering involved with it. The simpler, the better for me.

I took no shots of my "garden" (if you can call it that) with the camera yet but did take shots of today's Yankee game and of two of our kitties.

I feel silly telling you guys this but I even took the camera to the funiture store to take shots of the furniture we ordered. Our living room stuff is 21 years old and was bought for our old house with a much smaller LR and never really "fit" correctly in this one. So, as a 28th wedding anniversary present we decided to treat ourselves!

When I do get garden pictures, I will post them on a new thread.

I meant to reply to this earlier, Tulirose, but I forgot.....:o

Congrats on your new purchase! I can't wait to see it...and you too, of course. :p :D

We were hoping to get a new camera before our trip (ours is an antique now), but decided we've already spent way too much money. It will have to wait.

I don't think it's strange at all that you took pics of your new furniture! :) Big purchases are always very exciting! When you post your garden pics, you'll have to show us the furniture too! :)

Your anniversary is coming up very soon, isn't it? 28 years, that's wonderful!!!! :sunny:

can't wait for garden pics...but in the meantime..how about some Yankee and furniture pics...I'm obviously not picky.

I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures!

Bobbi:D

Yes, Yankees pics and garden pics coming soon! 4 megs too, you're going to get some great shots. I agree with going with a simple camera. It spoils the moment and you risk losing the shot while trying to figure out your camera. Been there done that.

Congratulations on your 28th! :Pinkbounc
What is the date?
Our 28th anniversary was July 25th! We were in Alabama setting up my DS in an apartment for his first year at college. His birthday is July 26th. Yup, born the day after my 10th anniversary. Talk about a way to celebrate your anniversary! Furniture buying is a great way to celebrate. I wish could get some new furniture but it will have to wait. College is our major investment this year.

Hope your anniversary is stupendous!
