New PhotoPass Offering

I would love to go in on a stock photo cd with you! How would we go about doing this??

I assume it would be done much like a photo pass share. One person orders, other people pay that person. That person sends data to other members of the share.

p.s. welcome to the board.

Anyone want to go splits on a Stock photo cd?

Sorry, but this is not allowed on the DIS. Fortunately, it's only 39.95, so that's not too expensive (at least in Disney terms;)).
I shared a CD with 3 other sets of friends on my May 2009 trip so that reduced my price. That can't be done on DIS though.

It's your buck, so make the most of it!

Thanks for the reminder...:thumbsup2

I am confused. Whats the difference of a photopass share and splitting the cost of the cd? Just curious.

I think she means that it needs to be done off the board not posted on the thread so everyone can see....
someone can offer...but than it needs to be taken off via email to deal w/ it.

I am copying this from the Budget Board:

!!! PLEASE READ!!! Important News Regarding Swaps & Shares!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It has always been a rule on the DIS that anything involving money changing hands between members was not permitted on the boards. With that in mind, a decision has been made to end all swaps and shares that include money passing between DISers.

What does this mean?
Beginning today, all Photopass shares requiring a payment are over on the DIS. No new paid Photopass shares can be started.
Threads for existing Photopass shares will be locked on Friday of this week. Any new threads will be deleted beginning today unless they are offering the Photopass Share at no charge to participants.
Fridge and stroller swaps that are free can continue. However, if a refrigerator/stroller is lost or damaged, the swap leader cannot collect money from members to replace the lost/damaged item. Swaps may continue if an item is donated for the use of subsequent share members.
No new fridge or stroller swaps will be permitted to start unless the fridge/stroller is a donated item and the swap is free to all participants.
Any fridge or stroller swap that is not free to new members will be closed on Friday of this week. This will allow those leaders of swaps that are currently collecting money to decide whether they are willing/able to offer their swap for free. On Friday, any swap threads that are not free will be locked and their links will be removed from the sticky threads.

I had prepurchased the CD before my trip and I just completed the order. Funny, when I prepurchased the price was still the lower price of $124 (or whatever it was) but when I completed the order, it showed me a savings of $149.99.

We got a Magic Shot over by RnR entrance area with us holding mickey balloons..first looking at the camera and then looking up at the balloons. I had not seen this magic shot before. The photographer also went ahead and took several other shots like Stitch eating ice cream and Minnie sitting next to us. A friend of mine got the Star Wars Magic shot with Darth Varder and a light saber, the photographer had a toy saber and had my friend hold it like she was doing battle. I thought it was pretty neat.

The Photogallery CD became available on June 16th (according to my friend who is a manager of the photo imaging dept at MK). She also mentioned what somebody else had mentioned, any photographer can take magic shots, you just have to ask and they can't have too long of a line behind them.

I think the photopass has grown in popularity because I can remember a time when the photographers were begging people for a picture. Now it seems like there is always a line for them.

After a bunch of added borders and zooms, B/W with borders, we ended up with 421 pictures on this CD. :thumbsup2

Mike..sorry to cause any problems. While I'm new to posting I've been a member since 2007! Guess I need to do it more often to learn all the rules!

Thanks anyway!

No problems at all. Don't worry about it.

Welcome to out little corner of the DIS...pull up a chair and make yourself at home!:)

Thanks for the welcome! I'm finding it very easy to post responses. Lots of information to discover. I thinked I'm "hooked"! I'm looking forward to learning everything I can. It's almost addictive!

You don't have to have had a recent trip to the Parks to buy the CD with The Disney Stock photos. Anyone can go on the Disneyphotopass.com website and buy it. It's not attached to the CD of the photos taken of you by the photopass photographers. It's a really good price considering one 5 x 7" photo if they process is $12.00!

I ordered one after I placed my order for my own photopass CD. So, there were two separate orders. It hasn't arrived yet. I did call Photopass before I ordered it to confirm it was the stock photos that are online, plus others.

Yes, the preorder price for the photopass CD also remained the same, but the regular price post trip is up to 149.95, however, some people have been able to get the pre-trip price before inputing their ID number.

Can you tell me how to go about preordering the photopass cd? I usually get on each trip, nut will preorder instead of paying the 149. In the past I have searched for a telephone number to contact photopass and cannot find one? Where did you find that? The borders can still be added with a preorder? How exactly does the preorder work, do they send you a certificate or something?

TIA
Vickey

Info is here Click me. They send you an email with a code that you use when you are ready to order after your trip. I pre-ordered both the CD and photobook last year, but didn't have enough time to get the book done and I asked them to credit my account, they did it lickety split! Have fun!

Just wanted to add to the conversation here...I ordered the photopass CD with the stock photos from WDW on it. Some of them are worth it (looking for a great fireworks shot?); some of them are not (pretty sure I took a picture of that sign when I was there and it came out just as good).

I HIGHLY recommend it for people who attend holiday events such as MNSHHP and Christmas season at WDW.

There are over 300 photos on the CD, but some of them you will probably never use (some of the resort shots for example).

I think that everyone will just have to weigh for themselves if $40 is worth it. I took the plunge because my friend are scrapbooking our albums and together and we will both use it.

PS: As far as I can tell there are NO DL photos on this CD. :(

Can someone share with me more details of what's available in making this book?

TIA,
bj

Well, that may have sold me on the CD. I still have last year's MNSSHP to scrap, and I'm going to the Christmas party for the first time this year.

Are there pics of every resort on property? I would love that since sometimes I don't have a pic of the resort I want to scrap, and in December, I know we'll be doing a lot of resort hopping to see the decorations.
