So I have to share our six new additions. I wanted to name them after the 7 dwarfs but was vetoed!

cheepers and peepers, cameron, kyle, zach, and The unnamed yellow chick!:rotfl: (and the whole mob is hens!)
At least this pet gives us eggs!

How cute! I'm terrible at coming up with names, but good luck naming "the unamed," I'm sure you'll come up with something good. Have fun with them!

They're so cute at that age! Look a little like the ones we got last spring. Buff Orphingtins and Barred Rocks. We're waiting til the end of April for our new batch of Black Astr-somethings. Nothing like knowing you can provide your own food for your family :thumbsup2

oh how cute!!! I wasn't expecting that when I opened this thread but I'm glad I did!! :goodvibes how fun!

Cute! Do you have an outdoor enclosure for them yet?

I think you should name the yellow one Daisy.

too cute!!! remember they grow very quickly, they will probably grow out of that cage in about a month or so! Do they have a heat lamp? They will need a lamp ) around 95 degrees for the first week and drop this by 5 degrees every week til they're 6 weeks old. make sure they dont have any drafts because it can make them sick! We have had chicks for 8 years. I love fresh eggs

yep got a heat lamp going on. Havent built a outdoor coop yet but our breeder told us they need to be inside for 60 days at least. Then after that we should start off slow with putting them outside because its still cold. Heck we have a snow storm comming this week.

when they are that little we kept them inside a clear tote. with a screen top, the they got moved to a bigger tote until they went outside ( in our coop) at around 8-12 weeks, depending on the breed. We put them inside a plastic pool side the coop. you can either put a screen on top or top it with another pool ( just make sure you cut a hole out on the top. they stayed in there until they were fully feathered or they could fly out.
