he is NOT from beta every BETA players has the yellow circle with the number 1 in it, you can not be from beta without that.

A few weeks ago new characters could be made with the new (unavailable/unreleased) pirate outfits that will be coming. This was totaly an error on VMK's part, It lasted maybe a few hours then they closed fixed the problem and collected the items from everyones inventory never to be seen again till they release it. I do know That a certain tester (tester but not QA not sure how you get that status but anyway) has been known to loan his out to friends. This is definatly not a beta person as mentioned because no day 1 I would guess it is possible they missed a few here and there when they pulled them back from everyone.

Testers also wear the blue outfit to though.

I started playing near the end of June and didn't get the day one badge. The game was still in beta though.

Summing up the thread:

He is not from beta (as determined by the absence of the #1 badge)
He is not a tester (as determined by the absence of no blue and the QA)

My guess would be either he is borrowing it or as macntosh pointed out, obtained it from the recent vmk "error".

See the thing is, just because he doesn't have a here from day one badge doesn't mean he is not from beta. If they gave it all the way through beta, well they should have named it "Here since beta"

Maybe day one wasn't the first day of beta testing. Day 1 could be the day it opended completely and obviously those there from beta will have been there for day 1

day one badge was given to people who was created on May 23, 2005 through June 27, 2005 (when vmk became un-beta)
