The only thing right now is that section is paused. I wish it would come back. I was hoping that platinum gets their #1 and Pearl board after concierge.I had hoped Pearl would also not have to pick a PAT - wasn't expecting much, but did sort of think it would be better than this.
It sounds like it’s time for Disney to either add more seating availability to Palo (especially on the Wish) or add another adult dining venue. Maybe priced between Palo and Remy/Enchantè?Such a letdown
Seriously, the only benefits Pearl get over Platinum is 1 earlier day to book, 3 days earlier online planning, and free photos? The 3 days earlier still can't compete with Concierge, so those Platinum's that get locked out of Palo because there are so many Concierge on the Wish, will still get locked out when they are Pearl. Ugh.
We have never done photos. I bet the majority that are pearl status have adult kids or at least teenagers.I will never be pearl status, but the benefits IMO are quite underwhelming.
Not everyone even values the photos, and I am sure that Pearl CC members probably don't want to wait in line for photos, and while some might, I bet most don't.
They really should offer an OBC, higher discounts on merch. Bring back the reception and put it on 7+ night sailings. There needs to be more on-board benefits.
Potentially, I would be interested to see the demographics of all passengers in the pearl status when it is officially a thing. We have never done photos. I bet the majority that are pearl status have adult kids or at least teenagers.
They probably are offering this because they know people that have been on over 25 cruises have more photos than they know what to do with. It won’t cost them anything.
I’m really hoping we enjoy Royal in 3 months because DCL’s locality program is rather insulting.
Despite what the website says, there were reports here of the Gold & Platinum reception happening on multiple cruises last year. The real cut was when they switched it to cruises of 8 nights or more, which are rather rare with DCL.It is just disappointing that the passengers who sail with DCL the most cannot have better perks. There is also no reason for them to not have things like the reception it is just to cut costs. I mean you can do literally everything including giving Mickey Mouse a hug, but no reception and when it is offered it is on a very small percentage of cruises.
Exactly. When we first started with DCL my daughters were little and we would buy a few photos. Now it's just myself and my wife so we have no use for a photo package. This is pretty lame in my opinion. It's such a joke. After 25 cruises, are you really going to wait in line to have your picture taken? It's just like Palo, a benefit that they don't have to pay for.
