New Owner BCV

We were recently in WDW and we stayed at 1 BDR at BWV for 5 nights and a 1BDR at BCV for 2 nights. We took the tour on June 8th and purchased 250 points at BCV use year Feb. The main reason it was an easy discision for me and my wife was because of all the information this board has provided. So I just wanted to say thanks and that we can't wait to actually go back for the first time as DVC members. One question I did have is we did MB and paid 10% down. I think I have read hear where some members used there MB as there down payment when did this change. It doesn't bother me becuase it just means I owe less but I was just wondering when it changed. Oh by the way where is the spell check?

Congratulations to you and yours!! Wish we were able to say "Welcome Home!", but we haven't bought yet!! My DH and I took the tour last Sept, came home, kicked ourselves for not buying then, but wanted to do a little research...and as you say, these boards hae been fabulous..and because we're Canadian, a 150pt purchase would cost (then) over 20,000. The exchange rates are better now, and we're actively hunting resales...hopefully Enjoy!!!

We are proud DVC members at BCVs and have made 3 trips already 'Home" since purchasing last year. Our next trip home is in just over a month, when we will enjoy some additional time at Vero Beach and OKW!

I don't know when the down payment thing changed but I believe it was in the last 6 months or so.

You can no longer use only MB for your down payment-or so I think. You have to put 10% down on top of MB.

Anyone else have any info on this?

We were told when we purchases in May that at 10% of your down payment needed to come from cash. So in our case, our down payment was closer to like 21.9%.

Wish you luck on finding a spell check. It is a striking omission. But with all of the shorthand used on this board it may drive a spell check system nuts
