Ok, everyone was so helpful before, what are your thoughts on this artist's work. I am referrring to his artistic ability.

If it floats your boat, go for it. Personally, it does not appeal to me and I would not hang those pieces in my home.

The whole thing about art is, it's something YOU like, and it's something that YOU would enjoy hanging on your wall to have and admire. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. So, if it's something YOU like, and if it's YOUR style, then go for it! Hang it up and love every minute of it!

It's not my style, but then, I'm not YOU!

For instance, my FMIL's penchant for artwork with angels, or her French poster-type art - I would NEVER have any of the artwork she has on her walls in my home, but I don't look down on her for having them hanging in her home, I don't even think about it! It's HER home, HER walls, and they are both for HER to do what SHE wants with them!

I'm sure she wouldn't want an Orlando map hanging on her wall like I have, either... You see!

I like the portraiture, but hate all the other "faerie" stuff. A little too "velvet painting" for me.

The artist use of light is somewhat nonspecific....there is one where there are torches hanging on both sides of the women....yet her face has full light characteristics...their is no shadowing or demonstration that the artist understands the complexities of light.

I couldn't paint any of it to save my life, but I wouldn't hang of that stuff in my house, much less pay for it.

Try a starving artist show.

I say he has talent, but the style is not for me or my home. I prefer classical, old world style or flowery paintings. Reminds me of the artwork on the cover of my son's World of Warcraft game.

I'm not an artist, but I think this artist's work is beautiful, and shows exceptional ability. Many of the paintings look real like photographs, and the mystical aspect draws you in.

Because I am about to pay thousands of dollars for an artist to painting something and I wanted opinions from average good people like yourself, not art critics. I appreciate everyones opinion. It is very helpful.
