Well just ordered this len's from B+H they show it in stock.I have one on back order from Adorama whats seems like forever they still show in on an allocation bases.

I like what I have taken with mine so far, but the true test comes in 13 days, when we arrive at the Kingdom... :cool1::woohoo::yay:

I'd had one on backorder with Ritz when I saw it in stock on Amazon.com and it was $10 less! I ordered it last Thursday & it came today. I immediately put it on my D40 & started shooting away. I took pictures of my son & our dog in my closets and hallways with the lights off just to get an idea of its low light capabilities. I'm brand new to the dSLR world (just got my camera last week!), but so far, I LOVE this lens! It's giving me exactly what I couldn't get from my P&S that was frustrating me. Can't wait to use it at WDW next month!

Not to hijack your thread, but of what I have, which lenses would you take to WDW? I have the 18-55mm kit lens, the 55-200mm VR lens, and now the 35mm f/1.8 lens. I'm thinking of using the 35mm as my walk around lens, and taking the 55-200mm for my AK day, for the safari and other animals on the trails. What do you think?

You are not hijacking this post, you are just adding to it :thumbsup2 You and I have the same camera and it sounds like the same kit lens.I'm a newbie too and I have been using my 55-200 as my walk around lens.Know that I have the 35mm in my bag of tricks i will use those two lens when I go to WDW.If you look at previous post on lens seem like almost everybody likes that pair.Hope this helps and have fun :)

I have the d60 and have all 3 of those lenses too. I got tired of changing lenses last year so I bought a 18-135mm lens for a walk around lns but I will bring all 4 with me. Last year I relied on my 18-55 for most shots like the castle and fireworks. The 2nd to last day of the trip I dreopped my camera which landed on the lens. It broke my lens so I didn't have any wide angle at all. I would bring everything just in case as it ios nice to have a backup. My 18-55 will be in the hotel as a backup this time.

All of them. You won't necessarily need to carry every lens every day of your trip, but I think you'd regret not bringing all of them.

The 35mm f/1.8 will be good for low-light shooting on the indoor rides and inside some restaurants without a flash. It will also allow you to get creative with some shallow depth of field shots, maybe of flowers, your food (if you like to write food reviews), etc.

The 18-55 is a good walk-around lens for taking pictures of signs, the people you are traveling with, etc. It will also be good for fireworks (if you are using a tripod of some sort).

The 55-200 will definitely come in handy in Animal Kingdom if you decide you want to take pics of the animals on the jungle paths, but will also come in handy for close-up shots of something that you can't necessarily get close to (i.e. details on buildings, things on the other side of a fence that you can't cross or people that are further away from you (like maybe close ups of the faces of some characters in the parade, etc.)
