New Nick Hotel

:wizard: :cool1: OMG!! I just "found" this place on the web yesterday by accidental hint from these boards...regarding the best pool slides...and am going to cancel me ressies at Caribe Royale and book here for November for sure! :flower:

I,too, would like any feedback...as this is brand new....I think it's not even open yet!? :sunny: My kids will freak out! I am keeping it a surprise! It may seem cheesy and "plastic" to some.......but a kid's fantasy for sure (DD 8 y.o and DS 51/2 y.o. :love1: ) Just hanging out at this resort will decrease the costs of going to water parks every day we were going to do those. :wizard:

:wave2: DIS NURSE from Oregon

The hotel is "brand new" ... kinda.

They totally redid the Holiday Inn Family Suites with Nickelodean characters and renamed it Nickelodean.

I haven't stayed there myself. I thought it was a bit pricey (for my family of 4 - we can fit in a regular room). But for those with bigger families it is probably reasonably priced.

I have relatives staying here this week - I will post when I see them this weekend! I am actually waiting for them to call - they must be having too much fun - I called on Monday!

There is a discount code in this months mousesaver newsletter. our rate went from $180 to $148. can't wait!!! it's a surprise for my DD :flower:

we are staying there may 30th. got it for 50 bucks through priority club rewards. i think i am the most excited about staying there. got the two bedroom suite, i know we aren't going to want to check out when we have to. its just a one night thing. have another place reserved for the rest of our trip ,but it will be worth it. :cool1:

Just checked Yahoo...the hotel is 9 miles away from Universal Studios. Rates for 7/2 - 7/6 was $215 a night! OUCH...I think not!

And it is sold out the nites we wanted that week!! Wewere looking for a one nite place before we check into Disney. I thought though that it was not officially opening until May? :confused3

It is open - they just tell you that they are remodeling and not everything will be available or open.

Just spoke to family that is staying at the Nick this week. They said the hotel rooms are a great set up for them. They have the ones with the seperate room for the kids. They have kids 7yr to 3 yr olds with them. (they left the babies home). The kids pool is open. The big pool is not. The kids love the pool but the big pool will be really cool when it opens. Right now they are pouring cement etc. She said if given a choice - wait until it is finished before you come. They are moving a ton of stuff around. While I was talking to her lounge chairs for the pool were going by their room. Right now it is a thunderstorm and they can't decide what to do...parks or what?

Hope this helps some of you.

We have it booked for nights at the end of June before we head over to Disney. I got an AAA rate of $180 per night for two room suite. It is cheesy looking but believe me my kids can't wait. The pools do look like water parks and they seem to have a lot of activities and entertainment for the kids. We're not doing any parks those two days just relaxing at the hotel. Then we head for 15 nights at Disney.

According to nickhotel.com, the hotel is "premiering May 30th 2005."
My family will be staying there May 16-21, and I hope most work will be done by then.

Berly1657, can you check with the family staying there if anything else is still in the works besides the big pool? I.e.:

- nightly entertainment
- character breakfasts

Thanks!

Still in transition

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our family loved it. The Face painting was one of the biggest hits. Very elaborate just like that in MK -- free!

yes, it's cheesy--but lots of fun.

the website already listed in this thread gives information on the layout. We used a mousesavers code and it was GREAT. HIGHLY recommend!

Super close to the entrance to MK. Took us 20 minutes from the door of our hotel room to entry into the park (drive, park ttc, boat ride, enter!)

Tuvo1 - I asked family today and they said it is hard to tell what isn't done yet. You would get up in the morning walk around and then "Wow, they painted that or there's a gift shop..." I think she said they are starting to fill the pool with water... Every morning there were characters at the breakfast. They loved the hot breakfast included with the room.
