awww - I like keeping the traditio of the same letter name - wouldn't want him to feel left out if the rest of the family has "M" names...
BUT as far as your question I really like the name COoper I think it's great - but then again I can't think of ANY nicknames for it - good or bad - but if you can then it's gonna bug you....

He's about 9 now and my special pal. When we're out in public, I like to lean over and whisper in his ear, "Hey, there, Quinnie the Pooh." He gives me a fierce glare and says, "DO NOT say that out loud!"
It just reminds me of a dog's name. With this in mind - when my I was pregnant, my DH & I had 1 rule: do not discuss baby names with anyone! Tell everyone the name you have chosen AFTER the baby is born...that way you will only hear the positives 
. As you can tell I have two little boys, who although I love both of their names- I really get tired of repeating them over and over again all day long. Seriously though, find a name that your husband and you can agree on and will grow with the child into adulthood.
