New Munu Proposition

I am a long time reader of the forum, and a three time 7-night Disney cruiser. Cruise number 4 is in January, and I have some questions about the menus.

My husband really loves the food on the cruise, and one of his biggest dilemmas is, which night to skip to go to Palos. Usually we would skip the tropical night, because the menu wasn't our favorite, but with the new pirate night, is the menu worth it? Keep in mind this in a menu question only, we are not big fans of all the theatrics during dinner, and could just as easily skip that. It's not like we are stick-in-the muds, but dinner is for eating, and showtime is for shows.

Next question,
If you have to (and you do have to) choose which night to skip to go to Palos, what is your reason and why? I am just curious.

Third question, is it true that new menus have just been rolled out?

My husband loves going on line and looking at the menus, nut is afraid they are dated.

And now the proposition.....

If it is true that the menus are new, and if someone who is cruising in the next 3 months (especially 7-day Eastern) could steal a copy from their wonderful server, and if they could somehow get them to someone like Dave from Marietta who has a wonderful website so that they can be enjoyed by everyone. I will gladly donate money to the website that uploads them to help defray the cost of putting them up.

I would also like to take this oppurtunity because I don't post much, to thank everyone involved in the DISBoards for making a forum centered around all of us who love breakfast outside on deck 9, who love spending a whole day on one of the blue chairs on deck 4, and who love Disney Dreams, a fancy dinner, and a nightcap while listening to Darryl Lockhart. :p

I don't remember the entire menus from our 9/27 sailing on the Magic, but there were some differences from Dave's site. I thought the pirate menu was the best night. I have that menu as it is given to everyone. I had the Jumbo Crab Cake with fruit salsa, the hideaway bay salad and the "Treasure of the Seas Grilled Shrimp and Seared Scallops (pasta with a creamy tomato sauce) Dessert was the "shiver me timbers white chocolate cheesecake"--- to die for!!! I would not skip this night!

Because our cruise was shortened, we didn't eat from the Triton's rotation menu, or have the lobster night meal. If I were planning on skipping a night, I would probably pick the "Best of" menu night.

My favorite regular rotation is AP - that salmon is incredible!

My least favorite is Lumieres - nothing is that appealing. And of the "special" nights, I skip Master Chef - don't really like any of the entrees

No need to "steal " a menu ask your head waiter and he will bring you anice copy of each resturants menu. At least our did!

Our least favorite menu is the "Best of" menu. I don't mind missing it for Palo!!!

Debby- you MUST try the veal chop next time. I think it was as good if not better than what I had at Palos!

I second the Lumiere's. On two cruises with some fair sized family groups we have tried just about all of it. Only O.K., wish they would rework it. But if you are on the Seven day you might consider simply missing whatever restaurant you visit three times. I love Lumiere's atmosphere, though. The most calming of the restaurants. But you do not have to choose. If you do not care about missing the shows, double-dip if your stomach can stand it.

I can scan the Pirate Night menu on Monday if you want it. I also thought this was the best menu on the 5 night Magic sailing.

I would skip the Best Of -- there wasn't anything I wanted to eat on that night.
