I suspect this is why they are making the selections through the app only.I’ve got quite a bit of experience with vpns, for example getting ESPN plus from within canada, and if you’re forced to use the app to make selections your phone will tell the app where you’re located and even if you try and turn it off the app won’t run unless you turn location on. This is how it works for ESPN plus. It does work with a vpn on a chrome web browser with location turned off in the settings on a computer. Once we get a bit closer I’m happy to play around with it and share my findings.
The only way to do that though would be to give someone your log in credentials for MDE. I for one wouldn't be willing to do that considering it's also the login for disney+, my disney gift cards and my reservations. That's a risk I wouldn't take.I also think at some point there will be a third party service that will make selections for you if you’re international for a fee. If anyone here is familiar with “standby skipper” I could see that being a way to have someone else make the picks for you.
Not really a surprise. But I'm glad they confirmed it.Breaking news: Disney just confirmed that Multipass LL WILL be available for advanced selection from Canada! Yippee!!
Earlier this week, we reported that international guests would not be able to purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Lightning Lane Single Pass before arriving in the United States. However, today Disney confirmed that guests in Canada will be able to purchase advance Lightning Lane passes in the same manner as guests in the United States.
This means that Canadian guests who are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel can reserve Lightning Lane passes up to seven days before their stay begins. They can then book advance Lightning Lane passes for their entire trip up to 14 days. Canadian guests who are not staying at an eligible Walt Disney World Resort hotel will be able to make their reservations up to three days before their trip.
I think your TA doesn't have the latest info.Disney still hasn’t officially confirmed that Canadians will be able to pre-book before arriving to the US, correct? My TA reached out yesterday and they’re still saying you’ll have to be in the US. Our trip is in early August so looking forward to getting reports from others.
Thanks for sharing the info. I can’t believe what a shortsighted decision this was excluding international visitors. Yet charging full price! .Not really a surprise. But I'm glad they confirmed it.
Not yet. There's a lot of speculation on the "main thread" over in Theme Park Strategies as to pricing, with some convinced the price will be hugely marked up over Genie+. Not saying that won't happen, but as this new system is, to me, not as good as Genie+ I think that would be unfortunate.Have we seen prices for this yet? We’re going end of August and on the fence if we need it price dependent. It is nice to know that you would get the rides that you want at a time you potentially want.
!Also going in early September. same We just don’t plan on purchasing this. same We were there last September for the first 2 weeks and didn’t use genie+ or ILL at all and had minimal waits the whole time. I see it as more money to put towards treats same
