The Mark VI monorails at Walt Disney World and the Mark V monorails at Disneyland are not compatible with each other.

Disney can order new trains from Bombardier of Canada for the Walt Disney World system. However, Disneyland requires custom-built monorail trains.

Anybody have a link to any concept art/photos of the new design?

Yeah, the plan's been retro all along.

I wouldn't hiold my breath on the new trains though, they aren't coming online till the entire monorail route is reopened and the whole route won't be opened until the sub lagoon is refilled. Right now they only run Monorail purple in a back and forth move.

Apparently the new trains will come online one at a time.

The DL monorail is smaller then the Florida one.

If only they could get the interiors of the WDW monorails to stop smelling like a barn...

are you guys talking about those neat 40 person public urinals that are portable between the many hotels and parks? There is nothing like peeing 25ft off the ground.

As the movie line goes:

"I love the smell of monorails in the morning - it smells like budget cuts!"

Does anyone have a link to the pictures of the new Monorails? That one up there doesnt work. I hear they're going to look more true to the original Disneyland Monorails, which is awesome!

I was told by one of the drivers thjat they just update the computers and they were not getting new ones for at least 5 years.

I believe they are in process of changing out the carpeting and repalcing it with solid surface floor covering. Testing indicated that this will greatly improve that O'DeLaMonorail we have all come to love. The update also include some changes to the center area between the two vertical poles, removal of the structure to increases capacity. Maybe someone has pictures of a newly renovated and can share them?

We prefer to call it "ambiance".

They need to hose down some of that "ambiance" at the end of a hot summer day  :sad2: :faint: C'mon, Disney, would a once a week "hose down" be all that expensive? Take it out of Iger's hide or Ei$ners retirement bonus!

Okay, had to add this when i read about replacing carpet with solid floors and being easier to clean. Yes the monrails do have a "unique" odor. Some cars worse than others. Rode in the front of one recently and no odor problem.
