New Monorail on order?

This one, at least, is supported by an earnings report disclosure.

Bottom line is that any order would need to be disclosed like this by Bombardier. It cannot be 100% keep it secret, keep it safe.

That said, I'm betting it's not Disney.

Agree, Odds not Disney. Something needs to be done as the current monorails are an accident waiting to happen. I have often wondered why major corporations have to wait for something catastrophic to happen before they act. What is going to take, some child falling to their death after another door opens for no reason. What will be the liability since it is well known that the monorails are well past their expiration dates. Why are not Disney attorneys Screaming to get these replaced ASAP.

The order isn't big enough to replace all trains, and thus not enough to convert the route to more modern equipment. So it is more likely somewhere else.

I wonder if the construction of the walking path between GF and the MK is a clue for something going to happen on the monorail soon. Maybe an extensive refurbishment of the whole line that could last months?

This contract still wouldn't cover the level of refurb needed to upgrade the line and run sufficient stock.

No, I think it is for another resort, the walking path that is. Lots of good useable land between the GF and the MK. They also did lots of work on the road there too. My guess would be an Uber luxurious hotel, since it will be the closest one to the MK.

Undoubtedly it is for a Disney monorail to run next to the Skyliner, so when one breaks down, which is likely often to occur, passengers can be switched mid-air to the other one.

Let’s see if the Skyliner breaks down you might have to rappel down, but if the monorail breaks down you might have to get on the roof and walk/crawl to the other end. Hmmmmmm. At least the Skyliner doesn’t smell like dirty diapers yet.

There are Bombardier Monorails in operation in Seattle and Las Vegas, the order could be for one of those locations. No way those prices would replace Disney's fleet, unless they are planning to phase new trains in slowly over the course of several years. Or, since Disney is down one train from the tragedy several years ago, maybe it is a replacement so they have an extra train to cycle the others out for full refurbishment.
