New Mickey = Cartoon Mickey

Thoughts on the new Mickey & Minnie? Some can't tell the difference. It looks great in real life but not so good in pictures. He also looks a little less round in the middle! I think they should refurb other characters such as Buzz, Woody, Jesse, Stitch and more!

I think this Mickey is smiling too, he's just less real looking and more his cartoon looking self from the 90's.
He is a little less round and his buttons on his classic coat tails look have changed. The blacks looks darker somehow too.

Huge Mickey dork here. Don't talk to me about those "shorts". So glad that it didn't become the official redesign

We watch Mickey Shorts every night! I find that who ever does Mickey's voice in those shorts is closer to he way he should naturally sound in the parks and other media. Much better! Though his design is something to get used to, it's sort of classic in a redesigned way once you get used to it!

I don't like the new one at all, I'm sure everyone will be used to it but I'm not sure why they bother changing it. They are probably trying to be PC and keep up with the times but in reality mess with something that's universally known and accepted!

This isn't the first time they changed the look of Mickey and it's almost certain it won't be the last. The change is to fit more with the cartoon version of Mickey. Modern cartoon Mickey is what Shanghai knows well. So why not debut the new face at Shanghai? Which is exactly what they did. They then have slowly phased the new face into every park around the globe. WDW will get them late this year or early next.

I like the animated shorts- think they did a great job balancing sort of contemporary cartoon tastes with the classic Mickey Mouse brand.

However, personally the design drives me a little batty because of...Mickey's shorts! It always distracts me how his shorts stick out from his body, LOL.

I love the new Mickey shorts! I think they're lots of fun. I also think the characters look really cute in that design. Mickey has changed design so many times over the years. This is one of my favorite looks for him and the gang.

I don't like that whole stick man look about them. To me, not an art aficionado, the old Mickey looks like someone had basic drawing skills, the new one looks like a cheap knock-off.

Not trying to be whatever, but Mickey is honestly one of the hardest characters one could ever draw. While sure one could draw him, but to pull it off correctly is very difficult.
