I was just thinking of something a moment ago. I was watching the test footage of the new show projected on to Cinderella's Castle. I don't remember the castle being that capable of displaying projections on it's exterior. My thoughts is that this last past year when they were repainting the castle and cleaning out the moat they were painting the castle with a different type of paint that is condusive to projections. It's neat to see the results of upgrades/refurbishments that before hand the general public doesn't understand.

This reminds me of a quote from Star Wars "All will be revealed!"

Could be...

The technology itself is cool, and looks great, but I would much rather see them project Disney animation sequences onto the castle than the photos of strangers that, honestly, most of us don't care about.

Sure. But I think many people will be excited to see themselves on the caste. If they are lucky enough to be on there.

I think you are right commando, it is neat to see the results of things they were doing or working on while you were there. I really think that this show is going to be neat and i have to say that my opinion is another clip montage is the last thing they need another of - they have so many of those. it seems like a lot of people are underestimating disney's skill at pulling at the heartstrings and putting on an amazing show, I will withhold complete judgment though until I see it

Well, I'm not too excited about it. I'm sure alot of first timers will be excited to see their pictures projected on the castle. I know I wouldn't want any of mine up there.

Yesterday, I posted Yuck on another thread but today I decided that I should try to keep an open mind.

After all, it's better than this:

The first time I ever saw the Castle is when it was the Birthday cake. I thought it was quite creative.

They have been able to project things on the Castle for quite a while now. I don't think they had to do anything different.

Darn I had just managed to mostly erase that horrific image from my memory!
That was just the worst. I didn't know they had done anything to the castle before I got there (this was pre-DIS) and I remember standing there with my mouth open when I saw it, I was too shocked to even speak. I finally got myself together as a CM was walking by, I started to say something and he just rolled his eyes and shook his head and said "Don't worry it's temporary." I got the feeling he'd answered my question ALOT.

I think there was something worse. I visited (my second) in August 1996 and got to see the castle half-pink, half-grey. I have a photo of it but I'm showing way to much leg in it to post.

I did not care much for what I saw in test video.
And don't think if I saw myself projected on it would change that opinion.
Guess I have to wait and see it in person to make a
fair judgment.
Hope Disney just has it periodically showing during the evening
and not on all the time.
