Hi All :wave2:

We have booked our first vacation with DVC, we have 5 nights booked at VGC in July. We are so very excited about it. Hubby and I have only been to DL once and the kids have never been.

My question is, should I buy park tickets online or should I call DVC and have them added to our reservation? Im not sure thats even possible but wanted to reach out here before I call and feel dumb..

I searched for this answer but didnt find anything that seem to match what I was looking for.

TIA for any info!!!

You can do either or buy them once you get there. There is no discounted price for tickets for DVC members unless you buy an annual pass. It may be better to buy them sooner than later as you never know when Disney will increase ticket prices - usually it is late summer but last year is was in the spring, if I recall correctly.

I would buy them online now, and get them as electronic tickets. Make sure you get the ones that are good at the time of your trip (there are some for special sale that can only be used to a certain date).

Unlike WDW tickets, Disneyland DOES have discounts on tickets when buying online from them, so it can be worth it.

Also unlike WDW, Disneyland does NOT put tickets onto your keycard, so you'll have two things each to carry anyway; might as well get that second thing at a discount.

DVC would not add them to your reservation, it would be a separate transaction. Unless it's an AP, you can get the tickets added to your KTTW when you get there.

I am heading down in May for our first DVC trip, Last time i bought tickets via a package through disney and my room key was my ticket. If i buy tickets online like undercover tourist can I have them add it to my room key when i get to the resort? or do i have to keep track of both my room key and park tickets. when I am there i only carry my room key since i charge everything with it, much more convienent and one less thing to lose

Yes, you can have them added to your KTTW.

I just noticed that the original poster is staying at VGC. I don't think DL tickets can be added to your room key, they are separate.

Really? If you buy a ticket from undercover tourist you can have that added onto your KTTW, even though it's an outside company you're buying your ticket from ? What if what you buy from UT is a 10 day no -expiration ,will they put that onto your KTTW each time you come home?

At Disney*world* (the OP's question is about Disneyland, so I'm being clear here that you're asking about World), they do put tickets on KTTW. Undercover Tourist tickets are simply WDW tickets, and yes, they can put them on there.

I think that in your case, however, you'd want to get them put onto one set of KTTW cards, and then mark them with a Sharpie, and take them home, then take them back when you go again. You might check the "all about tickets" sticky thread in the Theme Parks forum, to make sure, but that's just what I would do. Then again, I'm used to DisneyLAND, where NO ticket admission is on keycards *at all*, and I don't mind having separate admission and keycards.
