I just closed on a BWV resale and was told it takes up to 10 days to be in the DVC System. If I wanted to call on day 3 and check what number would I call? Or would I just call my guide?

Your paperwork should have the phone number or resale agent should be able to provide it to you; DIS does not allow MS phone number in posts.

Also know that your guide is just a salesperson - not a DVC resource for services and questions about your membership. Member services is your contact now. The only contact you may ever need your guide for is when/if you are making another purchase from Disney. They generally aren't enthusiastic to assist you with resale issues - you gave the commission to someone else. There will be some that report more of a relationship with their DVC guide - just don't expect it. Congrats on your purchases!

I want to know if I am in the system so that I can add on. I wasn't ready to commit to 160+ points and finance. I just wanted a small resale so that I could get in and add on as I could afford. Once I am in the system I WILL ADD ON! That should make my guide happy. (and me too!!! :cool1:)
 

When we bought resale we just waited the amount of time we were told and contacted Member services. I know that having to wait to proceed with your membership is like being a kid waiting for Christmas morning, but I would give it at least 7 days. When they ask for your member ID #, which you don't have yet just tell them you are a new member and don't have your member #. They will ask for your SS # and other info to verify the information. From that point on you will have your member # and be all set. I had no problem at all doing it that way with the resale agency we used.

Thanks! Good thing the 4th of July is this weekend! I will be so busy at work (I run a restaurant and catering business) that I will have hardly any time to worry about it! :rotfl2:
 
You can also give the main DVC sales number a call and tell them you are a new member who just bought resale and are checking because you want to add on.

That is what I did (5 days after I closed) and they found me and transferred me to a guide. I added on to BLT and had my points in 2 hours!!

I wonder if you called your guide about an add-on if you'd be "found" more quickly?! Maybe even have your add-on before the 4th! :rolleyes1

AFAIK the only reason it takes 7-10 days is b/c at least two departments or people need to enter your information. When we bought resale there was always another 1-2 days after getting into the system before our points were input.

In your case I'd call my guide first since you can start going over the details of your add-on....and maybe give a little nudge also if you're in a hurry.
