Just bought DVC (SSR), planning trip in May w/ 2 adults 2 children.
Have airlines reservatons booked. Questions :

1. Can Memeber services coordinate Magical Express if I give them flight info?
2. How do I purchase park passes and dining options? I was thinking MYW w/ park hopper & dining option. Does this make sense? Should I do it now, or wait until I arrive? Daughter would like to do dining w/ Princess, should I book now?

Thanks to anyone who can help!!!

as soon as you have your flight setup, I was told to call and set up magical express. I think they said 30 days out, but I would call to make sure, because you need tags for luggage. As far as the passes and dining plan goes, it sounds like you want to get them set us soon also. If you want a princess thing with your daughter, you better get right on this because they go very fast. I know you can go to mousesavers.com and get a better price for MYW tix and if you sign up for the newsletter, there is a link for a little better price than on the site.

Member service will set you up for the dining plan. Tickets you can buy where you want, AAA or any other ticket dealer. Or buy when you get there. Have a great vacation. WELCOME HOME.

If you want to use the member web site to set up Magical Express, that works. We've used it for our guests a few times, and there's never been a problem.

Also, although you pay for the dining option when you check in, you have to "order" it before, so be sure you tell MS that you want the dining plan.

We liked the character meal at Park Faire in GF, lots of princeses there, and we all liked the buffet meal. They had a strawberry soup, cold, that was out of this world, but maybe they don't have it all the time.

For starters welcome home. I would strongly suggest skipping ME. There have been numerous problems with that program. Run a search onhere and just listen to the problems. You might get to the resort OK but when and if your luggage will arrive is another question. Who needs the stress of hoping it all gets coordinated correctly? You also need a car IMO when staying at SSR. The only place you can walk to is DTD. Resort is also very spread out. Rent the car and have some peace of mind. What about groceries? It would make the trip to the store easy as well.

We just used Disney transportation for the first - and last - time. ME was fine, no problems at all, but the bus system was AWFUL! We will never try to save money by skipping the rental car again.

I agree, the cost savings isn't worth the potential for headaches. If we have time to burn we'll use the bus for the parks, if not we drive. We also drive when staying at BCV for the most part because of the multiple stops on the way back and Swan, Dolphin, YC and then BC. ME is aslo for now riddled with potential problems. I don't know about anyone else but I need things out of my luggage and there is a good chance I'll need them before 10:00p.m at night when ME seems to deliver luggage.

We've used Magical Express five times, including the first day it was officially offered and have enjoyed the service. They do suggest having a carry-on with your essentials so you'll have what you need while waiting for luggage to arrive.

The convenience of DME is great, we've usually been at the resort within 45 minutes of getting off the plane. We always use Disney transportation, even when we have a car with us so using DME has been a natural extension of that service. We just look at Disney transport (whether it's a bus, boat or monorail) as another attraction and build a little extra time into our schedule for travel needs.
The Dining Plan must be ordered in advance of arrival and I'd certainly suggest making ADR's for character meals well in advance.

Enjoy!

1. Yes.
2. Call MS for the dining plan.
You can book your meals also, or call regular disney dining line when you want as well.

How long are you staying and have you thought of when your next visit will be? You may want to consider an annual pass.....go a couple of weeks earlier next year....there is a substantial discount on an annual pass for DVC. Otherwise...regular passes may be purchased online through Disney or resellers. Welcome Home!
