I notice that my member guidebook is 2002-2003. When do we get new ones? Were we overlooked? Does it have something to do with the fact that we're SSR and don't close until May?

The last full guidebook was 2002/2003. They sent out a vacation planner for 2004/2005 last fall, which just included the new points charts, not a full guidebook. There's a family of 4 with fireworks on the cover.

We probably joined too late to get it. We joined at the end of last October. When will they send out a new guidebook, do you know?

Not really sure when the new guidebook comes out, but they seem to keep things pretty current (latest guidebook and updates) on dvcmember.com.

You should have got a new one with your documents box - call MS and request a copy

thanks

I asked MS about a new guidebook and they told me to hang on to the one I have (2002-2003) as there will be no new ones issued. I think she said the Vacation Planner is replacing it and only new members are being given that old Member guidebook. Odd huh?

When I joined in 1999, the guidebook was in a 3 ring binder. They would send out replacement pages each year for the new charts and any other changes. I think the problem became many people did not keep their book up to date, so they decided to publish a bound guidebook in 2001 & 2002. My guess is that became too expensive to print each year so now they are sending out the abbreviated vacation planner.

Debbie is right. Their intention is to have the Member Guidebook from '02/'03 be the basis of the Guidebook for years to come, and supplement it with the Vacation Planner.

Ah! I understand now. Thank you! I don't have the 2005 points, but someone said that it should be on the member website.

Yes it IS on the member website, as are updated points charts etc. Now that they have added 2005 points costs to the Vacation Calculator, it is starting to get somewhat useful. I like the one on the member site better than the one here, as you can get a total for multiple ressies. Of course the best resource for that is CaskBill's most excellent DVC point tracking system, but I don't have that on my office computer.
