Inside Scoop
Announcing another Wonder-ful Member Cruise
Disney Vacation Club Members are taking over the ship again! It's all part of The Happiest Celebration On Earth, our year-long salute to the 50th anniversary of Disneyland® Park, with events that span the globe.
We're thrilled to announce that our magical community will have their very own celebration aboard the Disney Wonder®! Planned for Labor Day Weekend 2005 (September 4-8), the cruise features an exclusive itinerary with scheduled visits to Key West, Florida and Castaway Cay, plus magical surprises created especially for Members.

To book passage on the S.S. Member Cruise 2005, call Member Services beginning Saturday, October 23, 2004. The latest updates about the cruise will be published in the "Member Special Events" section of "Just
For Members" on dvcmember.com, so there's no need to contact your
Vacation Club Guide or Member Services for updates before October 23.
We'll have special booking hours on that day from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm for
S.S. Member Cruise 2005 reservations only. Because of heavy call volume
associated with S.S. Member Cruise 2005 bookings, your wait-time to
speak with a Member Services Cast Member may be longer than is
customary. We expect this to be a popular Member offering, and apologize
for any delay in speaking with you. We recommend that you have at least
two alternate stateroom category choices when calling for reservations,
as categories may sell out before your call is answered.

We're looking forward to sailing again with you and your Disney
neighbors! (And we kindly ask that hurricanes not join us on this
voyage.)

Disney's Vero Beach Resort continues post-hurricane recovery
On Sept. 25, 2004, Hurricane Jeanne impacted Florida's Atlantic coast. The
Category 3 hurricane forced Disney's Vero Beach Resort to temporarily shut
down operations, and the property remains closed as a full assessment of the
damage is completed. Member Services is contacting those Members who
have Disney's Vero Beach Resort reservations for the near future and offering
them the opportunity to transfer their reservations, rebook for future dates, or
cancel their reservations without penalty. We will determine our operating
schedule as soon as possible. Rest assured that we are working as quickly
as we can to make the necessary repairs and return the resort to full operation.

The Walt Disney World® Resort safely withstood the impact of the storm,
and Guests are continuing to create new vacation memories in all four Theme
Parks and other destinations throughout the resort property. Updated Walt
Disney World operating information is available in the calendar section of
disneyworld.com.

We'll continue to share updates at dvcmember.com as they become
available.

Help us hunt down a famous alien
Calling all Members! Calling all Members! Be on the lookout for a short,
big-eared alien in the Tomorrowland® area of the Magic Kingdom®
Park. Proceed with caution if confronted by the three-foot-tall blue
being known as Experiment 626. He's known to be six-armed and extremely
fond of making trouble. Evidence of his whereabouts may include a green
slimy substance and maniacal laughter.

That's right—everyone's favorite extraterrestrial is on the loose and
running amok in the newest Magic Kingdom attraction, Stitch's Great
Escape!™, scheduled to open on November 16, 2004. Help the Galactic
Federation try to capture the escaped Experiment 626 during a special
sneak preview offered to Members during regular Magic Kingdom hours on
November 5, 6, and 7, 2004. Just show your blue Disney Vacation Club
Member ID card at the attraction entrance, and let the adventure begin.
(Please note that paid admission to the Theme Park is required for
participation in this preview, and the attraction is subject to closure
without notice.)

Attend the Member Update
On your next visit, come hear the latest Disney Vacation Club and Walt
Disney World® news and meet other Members. Join us at Disney's
Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa in the Theater (formerly the Cinema) every
Wednesday at 4:00 pm.

After the Member Update, be sure to tour the Model Rooms at Disney's
Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. They're open daily for Members from 5:00
to 7:00 pm—the only time that you may tour the Model Rooms without first
visiting the Disney Vacation Club Preview Center. Just take the elevator
or stairs to Room 2607 on the second floor of building one at Congress
Park, and check in with a Cast Member upon arrival.

Developer News
Enjoy a stable full of activities
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa offers activities for the entire
family. "We know there's no shortage of things to do all over the Walt
Disney World Resort, but we feel it's important to have activities
onsite here," says Michael Stewart, the resort's Recreation Guest
Services Manager. "We want to give Members and Guests a chance to
interact socially with friends and neighbors, and sometimes just enjoy
the outdoors."

Community Hall offers a wide range of creative pursuits. Make a
kaleidoscope, decorate a T-shirt, start a scrapbook, or rack up a high
score during one of the regularly scheduled video game tournaments.
There's even an opportunity to create a pottery piece, fired and ready
for pick-up two days later—an offering unique to Disney's Saratoga
Springs Resort & Spa. "We're creating programs that appeal to kids,
teenagers, and adults," Michael tells us.

Naturally, there are activities scheduled in and around the resort
pools. Weekly "homecoming" parties are held on Sundays at the High Rock
Spring Pool deck, welcoming Guests on the most popular check-in day at
the resort. The fun includes a DJ and hilarious 'noodle' races—an
aquatic homage to Saratoga Spring's famed horse races—and more.

Back on dry land, the fun continues with bicycles, tennis and
shuffleboard equipment, and DVDs available for rental. For a complete
list of resort activities and a schedule, Michael recommends consulting
"Horsing Around," the weekly schedule of resort events available inside
your check-in folder. He also notes that certain programs do require a
small fee.

Ask Jim
Q: How many bricks were used to build Cinderella Castle at the Magic
Kingdom Park?
Jim: A trick question! There are no bricks in Cinderella Castle. It was
built as the largest fiberglass structure in the world.

Q: Why does Mickey Mouse wear gloves?
Jim: So you can see Mickey's hands better. His black hand moving across
his black body would disappear in the cartoons.

Q: I seem to remember a swan boat-type ride to the left of Cinderella
Castle as you approached from Main Street, U.S.A.®. Am I correct?
Jim: Yes! We all miss the 17-minute Swan Boat Ride, which operated from
May 1973 to August 1983. There were 12 boats with swans as figureheads.
It was a "D" Ticket ride.

Around The Neighborhood
Don't skimp on the shrimp
This October, bring your growling tummy to Disney's Hilton Head Island
Resort and join a gathering of family and friends for the
all-you-care-to-eat Shrimp Boil Cookout. Fill your belly with freshly
prepared boiled shrimp, smoked sausage, pork tenderloin,
corn-on-the-cob, and hush puppies at this grand Southern-style feast.
Then stimulate your taste buds with scrumptious dessert as you enjoy
good ol' fashion entertainment courtesy of the legendary B'Lou Crabbe.

The fun takes place every Tuesday through the end of October, from 5:00
to 7:00 pm at Shadow's Point, located directly beside the resort
playground. Adult event tickets are $24.95. For children ages 3 to 12, a
special menu of chicken fingers, macaroni and cheese, corn-on-the-cob,
and lemonade is available for just $8.95.

Plain 'spooken' fun
Considering the colorful local history around Disney's Hilton Head
Island Resort, it's no surprise that it's one of the most haunted
regions in the United States! This fall, join B'Lou Crabbe under the
live oak trees at the resort for Ghosts and Legends of the Low Country.
You'll hear tales of Revolutionary War heroes, Civil War soldiers, and
bloodthirsty pirates, all of whom roamed the grounds at one time. Enjoy
some laughs and experience some chills as you learn about these
Lowcountry characters that refuse to leave. For details, inquire at the
Recreation Sign-Up Window.

E-mail your Member memories to us
Take out your photo albums, turn on your computer, and tell us about
your Disney vacation! Your family's story and vacation snapshot could be
featured in the "Letters From Home" section of an upcoming issue of
Vacation Magic, the quarterly magazine just for Disney Vacation Club
Members.

Send us your story and attach a high-resolution photo file to our new
e-mail address: LettersFromHome@disneyvacationclub.com. Letters and
photos may still be sent via postal mail to: "Letters From Home", Disney

Pool closure at Disney's Old Key West Resort
Construction of the new themed pool slide is underway at Disney's Old
Key West Resort. Because of this project, the main pool is closed
through mid-December 2004 during the construction. However, Members and
Guests are welcome to enjoy the resort's three other pools.

Stormalong Bay pool project continues
A refurbishment project of different features at the Stormalong Bay pool
area at Disney's Beach Club Resort continues this fall and into early
2005. During this time, certain sections of the pool will be unavailable
for use. However, the remainder of the main pool will not be affected by
the enhancement project, and will remain available for your enjoyment.
We expect the initial refurbishment to be completed by December 23,
2004. The main pool slide will be closed only from January 3 to February
25, 2005, due to the painting project occurring in that area.

Piping system replacement
As we continue to ensure that facilities are maintained to the highest
standard, portions of Disney's BoardWalk Resort will be undergoing
building maintenance and work will extend to limited areas of Disney's
BoardWalk Villas. Segments of the resort's piping system will be updated
through summer 2005. Work on the piping system will take place in the
corridors and surrounding areas of the Guest room building, daily
between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. No work is scheduled inside
Guest rooms. Please contact Member Services at (800) ******** for more
information.

Members get up close and personal with La Nouba™
Disney Vacation Club Members recently took advantage of a unique
opportunity to meet performers from the Cirque du Soleil® show La
Nouba during an exclusive up-close-and-personal event for Members at the
House of Blues® Restaurant at Downtown Disney® West Side.

Power Track/Trampoline artist Stephane Bayol, Vocalist Ralph Rawe, Power
Track artist Kristina Ivanova, and German Wheel/Character performer Bruce
Bilodeau discussed their crafts and careers, posed for photos, and signed
autographs while Members enjoyed lunch in a private area of House of Blues.

"I was already excited about seeing the show for the first time, but now
I'm even more excited," said Disney Vacation Club Member Nancy Radloff.
"I've been asking the performers exactly where they are in the show so I
can pick out the people I know."

Vocalist Ralph Rawe told Member Clubhouse he enjoyed the event on two
levels. "I've loved meeting the Members who haven't yet seen the show,
getting them excited to see it for the first time," Rawe said. "I love
hearing when they're coming so that I'll know when I'm performing that
they're there. I won't see them, obviously, but I'll know, which jazzes
me up a little bit. And it's great to visit with those who have seen the
show, as they're really excited about trying to recognize who we are in
the show."

For more information about La Nouba, visit http://dvc.chtah.com/a/aBBYzfcAQdwcTATNN4oAFONUg19/dvc30, and
always watch Member Clubhouse for information about other kinds of
exclusive events and offerings as part of your Disney Vacation Club
experience.

Guests staying at that hotel. For any updates to this policy, plus a
