I just want to clarify how 'scary' this ride is. We have a very similar ride in the UK at a theme park called Alton Towers (from what I can understand of the teaser videos and the podcast). The ride is called Air, and you fly on your front (and sometimes back) and it really feels like your flying!

Now to all you extreme ride phobic people put there, do NOT let this put you off! I won't say I am a baby at rollercoasters, but I can only do R'n'R once at a time, and would never go on coasters such as 'The Hulk' or 'Dueling Dragons' if you paid me!! I won't even go on the TeaCups!!!

This ride is TOTALLY different! It is the SMOOTHEST ride I have ever been on, its gentle and swooping, no clattering around or knocking your head into the head rests, the seats are the most comfortable ride vehicles i have ever been in. It really does feel like you are flying! You do load sitting up, like a rollercoaster where your legs dangle, you then get hoisted up so your feet are behind you, and strapped in. You are then set to make your flight!

So if you are a bit of a scardy cat (and i know i am!) don't let it put you off this ride! Manta looks fantastic!

You should do ride reviews - you describe the sensation very well - thanks for the input - Whip

Thanks!!!

Have i convinced anyone else to try it??

If Will needs a ride partner, i'm free in September!

Totally agree wish. Although, I can deal with most rollercoasters numerous times in a row (Nemesis at TP = 8 times in one day, 4 in a row), as long as they don't go straight up or straight down, I'm happy.

Anyway, Air is probably the best rollercoaster I've ridden

We're going to take a day at Sea World in April...is Manta ready yet?

I hope they put this ride at SeaWorld San Diego. I think it would be awesome to ride.

At least according to Wikipedia, it is not scheduled to open until May 22nd.

I'm too scared to go on The Hulk or Dueling Dragons but i did go on Air at Alton Towers because it doesn't go very high up in the air.

If Manta is about the same then i'll go on it

We haven't been there but planning to visit in our next trip. Hope we will enjoy it.

Have a nice day everyone. :)
