New Magic Bands

I picked up bands at the front desk at POP this morning and they are much thinner than the old ones and fit the wrist much better. I always found the old ones weren't quite the same shape as my wrist and I know I've heard others say the same thing. These new ones are a more pliable rubber. They are also longer...I could remove the grey strip and still have room to spare.

Did you happen to get purple bands? When I got my purple band in November, I noticed right away that it was thinner than the others I've had and more durable because of that. I wonder if all of the colors are like that now.

I just got a set of these for new AP bands... Looks like the fcc approved the new stronger radios...

fyi, the wireless is stronger on those bands but no indication is they use less battery power / last longer.

I pulled out the scale and micrometer to compare our first bands (Fall 2013) with the AP bands we just received (Purple).

Same physical dimensions.
New bands are 3g lighter (17g vs 20g).
The new bands have a new FCC ID (Q3E-MB-R2G1 vs Q3E-MB-R1G1)

EDIT: As pointed out by others below, the straps on the new version are the same width, but thinner.

They are thinner. We arrived here last Wednesday and received bands then that are exactly like the ones I got in December. We opted to get new ones for this second leg of our trip because my DD wants all the colours to match with her outfits

New bands started coming out in the fall. Am sure the plan was to use up all the old ones before sending out the new ones.

The new ones are definitely thinner than the old ones which makes them more flexible and comfortable.

These are two Haunted Mansion MB, new thinner one on top.

Yep... you are right.

I was measuring at the "body" of the band and not the straps.

I had this feeling something was different but measurements kept coming up the same (except for weight).
