New Magic Band & Annual Pass

I just renewed my annual pass and it is giving me the option for a new band. Does anyone know when the new Magic bands are going to start shipping? Should I just get a standard one now and wait for my next trip for the new one or will APs get new ones next year?

AFAIK, any MB issued in 2017 will be the new form.

last year we received our magic bands on December 28 for our January 18, 2016 trip. This year we will be in WDW starting January 26. We are right on the edge, I wonder if we will get new or old bands?
