New "lounge" coming to Tomorrowland

I think the main draw for this will be the fireworks, but considering how often they don't go off even when they are scheduled, I wouldn't risk it. I wonder if many people will book it on non-firework nights.

I predict that this is going to go over like a lead balloon. Why would I want to sit in a lounge for 2 hours? This is just about as dumb of an idea as the one they tried at WDW where you could spend several hundred dollars to have your own "cabana" in Tomorrowland (aka a hot & sweaty tent).

I read this earlier and I just don't get it. If it's a non fireworks night, what is the draw at all? Even a fireworks night is pushing it to me. It also loses value when you consider it would be nonalcoholic beverages offered. I'd love a comfortable place to sit at the end of the night, but a bench that's free will work just as well.

Yeah I don't get it. If it had solid firework views, not just "glimpses" I could maybe see reserving it for Grandma and Grandpa to let them rest and have indoor seats while the family is pushing hard till closing.
But this is just nuts, it's not just a poor value it's a ....why would you WANT to even if it was $10 or free?!! You are in Disneyland so...you play $45 to get glimpses of fireworks when you can get a full vantage for free?
The WOC dessert party has seats, treats and superior views to a show, that I get.
If WOC is cancelled dessert party guests get a refund, correct? So you for sure get a show?

It is actually a pretty good vantage point to see the up high aerial fireworks...you will just not see the castle and ground effects...hence the "glimpses". I get what they are going for but there is sure a lot of cover their butts language in the description!

I am ALL about the premium dessert seating kinda shows options like WOC and F!...but I don't see this one taking off very well unless there is more than meets the eye currently.

I don't think there will be more than meets the eye, unless there's going to be some kind of character interaction. It's just weird.

"Ample room" yet "may be seated with other guests". "Snack box and non alcoholic drink" "time to relax"...yet they are seating you with strangers, you get a snack box that would probably appeal equally to the toddler next to you, and you're paying $45 dollars for the privilege? Please. And I'm usually one of those people who wants to give DL money for special events!

I think they wanted to sell a fireworks dessert party like they do at WDW. But they don't have a place to hold it with a premium view, plus they know how often fireworks get cancelled at DLR, so needed to downplay the fireworks angle. That's how you get this awkward offering that includes "possible glimpses" of fireworks.

Just ridiculous.

I just hope they don't cut down any trees to improve visibility like they did for the Tiana ice cream social in the MK.

It sounds awful to me, but it may be good for someone like my husband who needs to nap throughout the day/evening. Being it is only open for 2 hours, I can't imagine ever using it, but it's probably a good place to stash the tired grandparents or the person in the group with the broken foot, etc. We really don't have any quiet, kick back areas in DL anymore. Surely, some will pay for that.

The dessert thing looks like the WOC dessert party. So, basically, most of it will end up in the trash. :tilt:

I've done just about every optional activity you can pay for at DL and this doesn't sound like anything I'd be interested in.

I am with you...I LOVE the idea of a premium fireworks offering, but there are PLENTY of places throughout the park that you can see the just overhead "glimpses" of fireworks without the madness of Main Street and the Hub.

I'm going to be odd man out I guess. I'm excited about this. We have tried a few of the different offerings that Disney has and we always have fun. We have a reservation for this for our next visit.

Will you please report back when you've done it? Maybe (hopefully) there is something that the rest of are just missing about it now.

Looking forward to a review after the experience has had a chance to happen. After reading the discription I will admit to not being too excited about the offer. I hope I am wrong. As for stashing granny in the lounge... I know my mom would much prefer to be stashed at the DLH with a theme park view watching the fireworks.:cloud9:
