New live action Pinocchio

Looks like the "Live action version of Disney animated classics" floodgates have opened and the market is getting saturated. How many of these have we seen announced now?

What is wrong with animation? Soon there will be live action movies of newer ones before they come out. Maybe Disney doesn't have any ideas for live action that they have to use their cartoon ones?

They put this one on the fast track and now it comes out this May and is called Age of Ultron. It is loosely based on Pinochio. It even used the Pinochio song "There are no strings on me" in the trailer.

disney has announced
Not quite. Like Winnie the Pooh and Mulan, this film has not been officially announced by Disney. All three of these film's source rumors originate from different news websites. I'm sure they're all well sourced. (and some of them even look as though Disney is testing the waters. Am I the only one who finds it strange all these projects have been announced back to back to back?) My point is I'm still waiting for that Matterhorn Movie coming out... Projects this early can die, and until Disney (from their PR department) announces they're moving forward we need to remain calm.

Once they do that, we can then freak out...

I think if these announcements were more spread out let's say one or two every few months or so it wouldn't be so bad. But we have had like one every few days which it's crazy. I also don't think I've ever seen an official disney press release of a movie they are doing. If disney continues to do them well like Cinderella I'm ok with it but they also need to continue original work.

The trigger words are "Disney has announced" or "Disney confirmed" inside of different news articles. Making producers or cast available is also orchestrated by Disney PR. Most cases not involving PR (or where Disney wants to be discreet) they'll say "x publication has learned that Disney has begun work on..." This is one example of that strategy. We still have not recieved real confirmation as this is in the very earliest stages of production.

Agreed. That's partially why I doubt we'll see all of them made. Disney had previously begun work on a Mulan movie for example. It was later canned. Same thing is likely with one of these projects too.
