Ok - are there any brides down in WDW now that are having a MK shoot with the new lights on the castle. We are planning a DFTW for next November and i want the MK shoot but I do not think I want the lights on the castle. If anyone has had the MK shoot done with the new lights can you please let everyone know how they turned out. Is there a way for them to airbrush them out. The lights look great lite but I do not want them in my MK shoot.

Thanks,

Linda

I think the lights look great, i'm having one done in sep so i'm disappointed that they are not going to be on there having seen them

I was told by my coordinator that the lights will NOT be on during the photo shoots.

I don't know what they are going to next year. I would confirm with DPS as to what the lights show when you are having your MK Photoshoot.

I think the lights look great when they are lite but I would imagine they would not be lite when doing a MK shoot. I do not know if I want the unlite lights just hanging there when I do my MK shoot.

Double check, but you may have a year afterwards to where you can take those photos. That would be a good thing as you can go back when the lights are not up.

Just because this is sort of "on topic"...

someone posted this today:

Christmas Lights at Cinderella Castle

Just thought it might help you make a decision. Of course, I don't know if they'll have them on for an MK shoot or not, but these are breathtaking!

:wizard: WOW! That's beautiful! I would LOVE  to have those on during my MK shoot...of course, that won't be until next year.:sad2: Well, I hope those of you who like them, get them in your pictures.

I can't wait to see them. We won't be able to attend a party, but I certainly hope we get to see them on our trip next week.

Well, now that they are starting up Christmas season full swing, I can't say for sure, but if the wedding coordinators are saying they won't be on for the shoot, I would think that would probably be right.

We just had our wedding on 10/29. At that point, all the lights were basically up already. Also, the crane had been moved out of the way. The lights were not on, and the way they have done the lights, they are unnoticable at all in the pictures.

Your pictures came out great! Congratulations on your marriage! :goodvibes

Here is what the castle looks like during daytime hours with the lights.

Thanks for those pictures safetymom. Its amazing how you can hardly tell the lights are there during the day unless you are looking for them when they have such an awesome impact at night.

So there is no way to have pictures taken at night time professionally within MK Park for a shoot when the lights are on?

Thanks for sharing the pictures, its absolutely beautiful :cool1: . My family and I will be there next week for Thanksgiving and for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party......I love this season.

does anyone know of they will have the castle lit up after the Christmas parties are over, around the New Year? I would love to see these and this is the first time in 10 years we are not going before Christmas. We won't be getting there until the night of the 30th.

Thank you, osxgirl! Your pictures are lovely and you have made me much more relaxed. I am planning a DFTW Nov. 09 and if the lights are still up, I know that the unlit wires will not ruin my pictures because I've seen your beautiful pictures. Your dress is beautiful and Very Cinderella. Congrats on your wedding.

The lights are amazing when all lit up at night! I sooo want to go to Disney now! I can't wait until February. I was supposed to got two weekends ago. I even had paid for my ticket and room. Alas, I had to bow out b/c of school! I need my Disney Fix! And I would love to see the castle with the lights in person.

Okay, and I have no real reason to post on this thread, b/c we aren't doing a mk photo shoot. But if I was I would have no problem with the lights being on or off. On, they look amazing and off... it seems as though you can't really tell they're there. Good luck to everyone working this situation out with there own photo shoots.

Thank you so much for posting your pictures. They came out beautiful. This gives me a great image on how the MK pictures will look with the lights strung on the castle - but not lite.

Linda

Does anyone know when the lights come off? I am guessing in January, but does anyone know the exact date? TIA!:goodvibes

I know you asked for an exact date, which I don't have. Christmas ends at Disney around January 6 (Three Kings Day). I would guess it will be a couple of weeks... toward the end of January before the lights come off.
