New "Kelly" doll!

What is up with the new Kelly dolls? They have big wide faces and look cheap! Rather like an alien Kelly! DD and I were scared when we saw them in the store.

I hope these don't take over the real Kelly's! I wonder if Barbie will take on this new look!

I don't like them either. DD has several Kelly dolls and they are all so cute! Why would they change them?

I can't imagine why they changed them! DD collected the regular cute ones, these are too cartoonish!

My DDs have passed this stage, but we used to like them because DD#1 is named Kelly. All I can think of is maybe they are trying to compete with Bratz--although without the lips.
Barbies always are changing, though. My Barbie dolls never smiled showing teeth. I remember when Skipper suddenly had breasts (in fact, they had a "growing up Skipper" whose breasts grew when you raised her arm) and what a shocker that was!

My DD has a huge collection of Kelly dolls. She loves them. We think they are so cute. We saw these new ones the other day and both our reactions were
DD said oh no what did they do to Kelly!!
They really look scary and I hope they aren't changing to look like this for good.

Man, those look awful!! I am going to have to go to Walmart and buy some of the old ones and put them away for my daughter. The old ones are so cute. These are just freaky looking!

I remember using my grandfather's vice to see how things could change their shape. These look a lot like the Barbie's head I tried the vise on! That or someone dropped them on their heads REALLY HARD! Definitely freaky

That's just wrong. Maybe so many people complained about Barbie dolls looking unrealistically "perfect" that they've gone to the other extreme of making them look deformed . I grew up playing with regular barbies and it didn't warp me. At least I don't think that's what warped me

And you are right, rather Bratzish. We don't buy those either!
Perhaps if no one buys them they will get the message.
