New June - Team Hakuna Matata!

Hi everyone! Just dropping in to say hello :wave2:

Villains_Rock - I did WW a couple years back as well! It worked out really well and then I changed jobs and gained lots of weight. I started working downtown and with different people. My previous manager and coworkers use to be in pretty good shape. We'd usually talk about our exercise routines, healthy eating etc. At my current job, no one exercises or eats healthy. Plus there are a ton of fast food restaurants all within walking distance so I haven't exactly been a saint either.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the both of us! I think June will be a good month :goodvibes I'm also keeping track of my measurements just in case the scale decides to be stubborn

And I know what you mean about keeping busy! My manager is on permanent vacation - he works two jobs and only shows up to the office about 1-2/week for a couple of hours. There are some days I feel like I'm watching paint dry.

Stay cool and keep drinking water for everyone who's experiencing the hot weather!!

Hi guys.

We went to see the Movie Kung Fu Panda today, like I could miss that one. The message is near and dear to my heart.

I walked 5 miles with Erica at the mall so total miles for me today is 9.5, most I've done in one day since the Marathon in January. My achillies is a tad sore so I'm doing some icing and took some Advil.

Erica has a phrase from the movie sdtuck in her head. "Stop your gonna make me pee". You have to see it to understand.

Denise, we will be at the BWV for a few days while Miranda is there, they can join us for a beer at the brewery in the evenings if they wanna.

Kim, so sorry about your brother in law.

Scott, Erica and I will certainly stop by for a drink on our next trip through the North Country.

Bunny, good luck with your diet plans.

Have a super evening y'all.

Evening Fellow Team Mates!

I survived my first weekend back at work with nothing more than severly swollen feet, so I took an extra day off yesterday.

I did a really nice 5 miler with Dave at the mall today after watching Kung Fu Panda. I now have a new mantra "Stop you're going to make me pee." :rotfl2: :lmao: The Panda says this, but you got to see the movie to find out why:confused3

Wow! I had alot of catch-up reading to do. My weekends are Sun/Mon so while all of you are getting back online on Mondays, I'm doing housework (and seeing Sex And The City)!!

So yeah...90-some degrees and no sun made for my LR to be completely hellish on Sunday. My dad called late Sat night saying that he had a meeting in the morning but he'd like to ride with me on my long run to meet him at 12:30. Now I always think I'm tough and can handle weather...but it was RIDICULOUS. No shade on those country road out by them...dear flies...ugh the deer flies were brutal. I was fine till I was about 3 miles away from there house them I though I seriously could have heat exhaustion!! I walked a big part of it and hid under trees off of the side of the road to soak up some shade. I will never attempt that again! Days like that are meant for the gym!!

K...well I really have read all of your posts, however you must forgive me as today is an early day for me at work. I'll try to personalize a bit tomorrow. Hope all of you are finding safe ways to train in the heat!!

-Eva

Morning Kids, got a run in this morn felt good. Temp was 54.

I saw an add in the sunday paper for Dick's Sporting goods, they were selling a parachute you wear to produce drag and give you resistance when you run. If we did that here in Cheyenne we woudl be in eastern Nebrasha before we knew it.

Have a great day, we will hit 80 degrees today , it has been rather cool till now.

I've seen those parachutes in our sporting goods store here also. I do sprints in the pool to build leg strength. I'd feel goofy chugging down the road with a parachute behind me. Being a walker I'd look goofy to.

I had a nice walk on the treadmill today, then a good session of calistetics and stretching.

Have a super day everyone.

Dave I would tell folks I use it to slow me down when I land.

Good Morning Team!

As it is supposed to be hot and windy today, I got out early with the dogs for a 3 mile walk, then a 6 mile bike ride, should have done the bike ride first, the wind kind of picked up, it is hard to ride against the wind, I had to pedal even downhill against the wind - it was strong enough to stop my forward progress if I did not pedal! I still need to fit in a Pilates tape sometime today, then get to the painting again - now I am working on all the trim for the bedroom in the basement - most of it is set up in the barn, now that it is warm enough to paint out there.

It has been on the cool side here, until today, but tomorrow will be cool again, 60 degrees instead of 80 degrees. It is always dry here, which I find makes it easier to drink water. I rarely drank much water when I lived in the East, but here I am always thirsty!

Good luck to any of you in the flood zones!

Erica - take care of those feet!

Time to get busy with other chores - have a great day!

OK got RM on the Dish Sirius Radios channel 6130, and getting ready for the JB concert,. Should start at 6:00 here in the Mt time Zone.

Got out of work after 10 hours and when I got home did a three mile run, then a short bike ride to the mail box.

The weather was really nice today 78 degrees and sunny.

Will be making Salmon cakes for dinner tonight , will put a SW twist on them with cilantro, coriander, and cumin. Served with a peach Mango salsa.

Might do some oven baked potato chips, we will see.

Took an unplanned rest today as I have a very unhappy toe that wants no part of any pressure. No, it is not either of my big toes, but one next to the left big toe. My gait is so different now that this particular toe gets alot more action than before. I'm not really complaining as I know this will eventually work itself out. I am going to train as my feet tell me. I don't want to overdo.

Hope everybody has a good evening.

Hi, Team!

I am without my car this week as it's being used by my mother-in-law. I thought this would be a good opportunity to save some gas, but it's not really working out that way! Yesterday I rode my bike in to work, but DH happened to be in town when I got off work, so he picked me up. I decided to leave my bike at work and then walk in this morning. :cool1: That worked, until I got ready to come home tonight, and my front bike tire was flat, flat, flat! So, DH had to come get me AGAIN!!! I'm hoping I can manage to get myself to and from work without assistance tomorrow! LOL! I will probably walk in to work on Thursday (takes me a little over an hour) and Connie will be picking me up after work!!!

Lynn, Connie and I are doing the Greenwood Village Goosechase again this year. We're doing the 10k. It's quite a small event, very relaxed and friendly. There are quite a few choices of how to participate. You can go on a long bike ride, a short bike ride, you can walk or run a 5k or a 10k. They serve a really great lunch afterwards and there are lots of prizes. They put all the bib numbers in a bucket and draw numbers for the prizes. This will be our second year, because we enjoyed it so much last year! It would be fun if you and Scott ever get done remodeling and could do it with us - maybe next year!

Denise, good to hear from you. Your remodeling project sounds perfectly.....awful! LOL! I know how it is - we had no kitchen for 3 months this winter! I hope you get it done quickly!

You all take care and keep up the good work! :thumbsup2

Good Morning Team!!!

Scott - Those salmon cakes sound yummmy!! How was our favorite "son of a sailor" last night?

Lynn - Glad you are staying hydrated. Some of us (I) could learn by your example! :rolleyes1

Erica - Take care of that toe!!

Dave - I so want to see that Kung Fu Panda. I bet it was great!!

As for me...umm...got my run in yesterday after work (even though I was tired). And I plan on getting a nice run in tonight along with some floors work. I've been focusing on the leg lifts and abs the last couple of weeks. Can't seem to tone up my thighs to save my life!! Not much else going on...

Hope all of you have a great day!!

Took the morning off, might get a run in tonight, Buffett Concert was good, it was a nice night out so we took the pups for a short walk during the concert.

Dentist in 20 min.

Finally the heat broke just a bit and Miranda and I got out at 5:30 this morning for 3 miles. It was GREAT.

Erica - watch that toe, my second one gives me trouble too. I lost a nail on that one and the same toe on my left foot is now causing me the same issue so I'll probably lose that one too. No big deal, I pamper them till they fall off and Whoosh! another is right underneath.

Take care all, I'm 54 today - but feel so good I may just act like 4 for the rest of the day!

Quilting Bee tonight, and it's at my friends house - she has a large built in pool. Ya Hoo! It's a FAB day!

AIR!!! I am coming up for AIR!!!! :woohoo:

I got DD home. She is doing very well. I didn't get the IT problem worked out....yet! But I have hope, now. And I have decided to delive the stuped invoices to the company in person. They are in Denver, I will be in Denver. A perfect opportunity!

I leave tomorrow for Kathy's. So, I won't be around for a couple of days. Not that anyone will miss me....you all probably thought I had fallend off the boards! I have everyone's time in up to now. Lots of persons haven't gotten me any time. ANd don't forget to help cover Hockeychic (Kim) and Mike eh! They are having problems. Let's not let them down!

Off to pack. See ya soon!

Good morning team! Hope everyone is doing well :) I worked out with my PT last night. He's really stepping things up. I noticed the weights we're using are heavier and I'm jumping rope longer. It's funny how jumping rope was so much easier when I was a kid!

I picked up a pair of new running shoes yesterday. They're the same shoes that I'm running in right now. I think the store was getting rid of last year's models so I got them at a discount! While I was there, they were unpacking a lot of Garmin 405 watches. They looked really neat. I didn't buy one ... maybe in a couple of weeks. It really was quite tempting though. I guess I can put the money I save on the shoes into my Garmin fund :rotfl:

Denise - :bday: Happy Birthday girl!!! Hope you have a fantastic day :)

Erica - Hope your foot is feeling better today :goodvibes

Dave - Now I'll have to go and see Kung Fu Panda to see what that one line is all about. I'm looking forward to seeing Wall-E. I love Pixar films!

Connie - Good to see you! I haven't been around much lately either. Sorry to hear that the IT problems continue ... but at least you'll get those invoices to Denver :)

Kim/Mike - Hope everything is okay!

Scott - How did the salmon cakes turn out? It sounds like you're always cooking up something yummy!

Kathy - I want to get myself a bike this summer. I thought about taking to work as I'm tired of the bus and subway but I'm not sure I'm brave enough to ride on the streets yet *lol*

Villains Rock - I have the same problem with my thighs. In the past, whenever I've lost weight, nothing ever seems to happen with my thighs. If you figure something out, let me know! :)

Keep up the good work everyone!!

Good Morning Team!

Denise - :bday: have a great day, enjoy being 4!

Erica - sorry to hear about the unhappy toe - take care of it.

Connie - have fun in Denver!

Kathy - We may put that one on our list for next year - the basement should be done by then!!!!

The salmon cakes turned out very good. Scott is a great chef.

Today is cool and windy, it is supposed to be more windy later, so I will brave the wind this morning for our dog walk. 20 mph wind is better than 40mph wind! But at least we do not have the heat that the east coast is getting.

Have a great day, and everyone in severe weather areas stay safe!

Happy Birthday Denise, have a good one and 54 aint old, stay 4. it is more fun.

Salmoin cakes were great.

Denise, as Scott said stay 4 it's more fun. See after fifty you can start acting a year younger every year instead of older. Happy Birthday pretty princess.

Connie so glad you have breathing room again,

Mike and Kim get better guys.

Bunny, instead of a Garmin, Erica wants the New Nike+ wristband.

Scott and Lynn, got any salmon left over? (Best lab sad eyes beg.)

Eva, the thighs will come along. Your building the strength anyway.

As for me it was 55 degrees so I decided today was an excellent opportunity to start LSD training. So I did a wonderfull 8 miler, total time was 1:41:46, pace was high 12s. Very comfortable walk, I'll be doing one every week now.

Have a super day y'all.

Walking Panda:hippie:

Denise Happy 4th Birthday!!! Hope you have a good one!

Toe feels tons better today, so I'll probably get a walk in after I run some errands.

Wish I could walk or ride a bike to work, but the roads I would have to use are not bike or walker/runner friendly...or is it the drivers are not biker or walker/runner friendly. The 15 mile round trip would be good training...but we don't live in a bike or walker/runner friendly town.

Will check in later.
