New Job w/ Disney! Should I sell?

Thanks for all the advice. I hadn't thought about the hurricane idea, but that seems like a good one, as the resorts are built better than most homes.

As to where I'll be working, let me just say it will be behind the scenes, in a professional capacity. I don't want to say anything further, as I don't know how Disney feels about cast members (even future ones) posting on these boards. It is the dream job, doing exactly what I've been doing for the past several years, just now doing it for Disney. Everyone who knows me says it's the perfect job for me.

I won't be privey to any top secret information, though. So, no news on new parks, etc. Sorry.

I think you should sell it. Use the money to help you get set up. Then if you decide you want some dvc points buy a new contract with the cast member discount.

I've seen a couple of good options mentioned. Buy a smaller contract with the discount and sell, or hold on for a while and sell after SSR is done selling.

Hard to say if working there and going to the parks all the time would burn you out or now. Would be fun even living in the area to have a place to stay for something like NY Eve next to DtD. My inclination would be to hold on to it for at least 12 months, use the points to go somewhere different (like HH or trade out) and then decide.

First off congrats on your new job.

I would hold off on selling your points. At least hang on to them for a while and see if you actually get any use out of them by family/friends or yourself. If not you can always sell your points later on.
